Here is a man lifting 60lb weights. Notice the muscles on his arms and the grunts. Just to lift them a couple times. And he is not running or fighting off attackers, he is standing in a room.

We used to go out there to do HIIT. We’d do laps with heavy ass kettle bells. We’d do all sorts of ridiculous crap out there - we had some real apes.

Anyway. I checked out the comments section; it’s absurd. Farmers have a different skill set, much respect to them, but running around fighting off attackers while holding a heavy weight wrapped up in an overcoat isn’t one of them. Farmers are strong, but not that way.

This is what I’m talking. It’s impossible to have any meaningful dialogue with the ‘man’ because he points to an absurdity like his actor running around set, or down a hill, as proof it can be done.

There is no reason to believe the Mopologists on this issue. They have a poor track record when it comes to telling the truth anyways, but one of the issues here is that all their "evidence" is based on anecdote--sort of like the infamous "Murphy Transcript." Where is the video evidence of Richins actually weighing the plates? What, did he just heft them in his arms and take a guess? If this is such a laughable strike against critics arguments, then it should be a piece of cake for the Mopologists to replicate this. Let them video themselves hustling through the woods with a 35 lb. weight. Heck, let them hustle *anywhere* with a 35 lb. weight. Let's see Rappleye, or Smoot, or Boylan, or Mike Parker, or Ugo Perego, or DCP himself trot around while carrying that much weight. The critics are so hilariously wrong, right? LOL. Is he serious? Something is proven merely because it's depicted in a fictional motion picture? So the events of the MMM are just as they're depicted in September Dawn? It's been "demonstrated"! Mormons behave exactly like the characters in Under the Banner of Heaven? Hey, it's on film it's been demonstrated!

Again: why not have an "Interpreter Fun Day" where they gather together all the strapping young Mopologists and have them haul around a 35 lb. kettlebell? It doesn't even have to be in the woods! Just think: this would shut the critics up once and for all!

His claim is absolutely false and let me explain why.

If they really did have a set of 60 pound + plates on set and if their lead actor really did run around with them like they were nothing, then the executives on set would have stopped the whole thing long enough to invite semi-friendly critics to the set, weigh the plates, and then reproduce the Joseph Smith action scenes and get it on film as an "extra" because that would be worth 10x the film itself for the typical believer.

As it is, it's just another "anecdote" as Doctor Scratch says, that he wouldn't lift a finger to analyze critically. Note he said "heavy props" -- how heavy, were they even plates? How many sets of plates were on set?

All it would take is for one apologist to see an actor running with an unknown object, assume it is the plates of the same weigh, spread the story around, and then everyone plug their ears with their fingers and repeat the story and block any attempts to analyze or repeat the scenario.

No one outside of Moronism believes this tale. I had to explain to the fellas what we were doing, why we were doing it (Peterson's claims), and what the story was behind the exercise. They laughed like hyenas at the idiocy of Mormons, rightly so in my opinion.
