honor,

I wanted to offer you some advice about your personal meltdown on the board last night. Clearly, I was the person who triggered your meltdown and because of that, I wanted to offer you some advice that I strongly believe will help you.
Sorry to disappoint you that it wasn't a meltdown. It's interesting to see someone so ignorant yet entrenched show up only when they think the other side is down and pander while refusing to actually engage in discussion.
I guess you aren't interested in my advice. No worries.
You're not a good dude, dude.
What measuring device are you using to determine goodness in people?

For what it's worth - I think you are a good dude, dude.

Would you like to discuss what Hanson has wrong about inflation then?

Glad you asked.

Good is, by definition, a subjective value statement indicating something in relation to something else. There's no objective thing one might call "good" without a comparison to something else.

So, at its most basic an attribute important to me for someone being "good" is they act in a way I trust them compared to someone who I don't trust. It is one of the more important attributes of being "good" in my opinion to be someone who is the same person when they are with me as when I'm not around. Good people don't just show up when someone needs help or, to quote the Bible, "Do as the Pharisee's do." The New Testament makes it clear that Jesus considered the interior to be more important than the exterior person put on for show for others.

Being polite or what may be called Minnesota nice doesn't make a person "good".

In the context of this board I find it incredibly "bad" to be the sort of person who pretends to be polite but whose participation is mainly masking behaviors put on to be seen as "good" while taking great offense to things they feel don't acknowledge the masking. The way you take offense to broad labels not just recently but in the past? Red flag behavior as that's how sociopaths behave when someone doesn't play along with their masking.

If you were genuine, you'd engage your political views or be consistent in avoiding politics as a topic all together. You wouldn't show up on the board with convenient timing when it seems Democrats might be on the back foot and then flash red when a broad topic about the state of the Republican party is questioned, but instead engage as your individual self with individual views you understand and aren't condescending about being above sharing with folks on the board.

Everything about your posting sets off my alarms I should keep your hands where I can see them, dude.

However polite you are, you aren't a good dude.

So would you like to discuss what Hansen has wrong about inflation? Or what you took away from any of the videos others have shared? The videos with David Brooks are not vitriolic anti-Republican infotainment. He's a conservative with deeply traditional conservative views and often debates progressives and Democrats. He's an example of what you had asked about elsewhere: someone who engages in civil discourse.

Or is it safe to say that was not ever going to happen and it's best to acknowledge we're done then?

Yeah, it's nice when someone actually answers a question they're asked. You can almost assume they care about having a conversation.

It makes one wonder about those unwilling to do the same.

Sure, one can tell himself he is above responding to certain posts, but we all know it's not a feeling of superiority, but inferiority because you're incapable of engaging. Is it because you're thoughtless, incompetent, simply dishonest? Who knows, but what we do know is that you are a gaslighting, bad-faith "conversationalist."

And of course, you are above responding to this. Clearly, you tell yourself that on the regular.

You may actually be a nice guy, but your posting habits expose your BS.

Vince Dao reaction video - Bill Maher DESTROYED By Megyn Kelly After Asking ONE Question About Trump (about 15 minutes) - I am not familiar with Vince Dao but this was really good, in my opinion.

What this tells me is that Megyn Kelly decided to trade on the idea that fear of wokeness was profitable to her and she is willing to use that to rationalize throwing democracy and republicanism under the bus. The basic idea here, which is obvious from the outset of the video, is that some people are choosing authoritarianism because they want particular results that they are not getting quickly enough from the republican system of government we have. The GOP had a choice in the Obama years to soften its platform to catch more votes, or to double down and break with republicanism. It chose the latter. Like other authoritarian movements, it is using fear, hate, and resentment to attract the people who have suffered on account of the tough changes of the last 50 years.

What that means to you has very little to do with what that means to people with wisdom.
LMAO
