One cat. Our other cat just suddenly passed this past week at only 10 years old. RIP. :( Shoutout to all the pets in this thread.

It’s amazing how the cosmos can send us critters that are such polar opposites of what we think we need, and/or have found comfort and joy with in the past.

My last dog was a Corso/ABD mix, named Pooka after the old Jimmy Stewart movie "Harvey." She had a frump face of perpetual sorrow, and would constantly sass when she wasn’t getting what she wanted, often punctuating her sass with farts. She was 115 pounds of stand-off-ish death monster, that broke a few kennels trying to get out to eat people. She was also 115 pounds of gentle tolerance, as my son would always use her as a pillow, and a stage for playing with toys. She would pee from excitement whenever my dad would visit, and would smack herself in the face with her tail as she curled while backing up for butt scratches from my mom. She had a plethora of tricks she could perform, and was incredibly attentive to commands. When her vest or backpack was on in public, she was all business, and ready to work. Nothing existed beyond the last command she was given.

Before she passed, we got a new dog -- a pit/ABD mix, named Franklin Beans. He’s the embodiment of stupidity and weirdness. He has a blankey that he totes around, and will suckle for hours on end. Accidentally stepping on the mushy suckle portion barefoot in the night is the bane of my existence. He doesn’t listen, and is nearly untrainable. Just a sandwich of a giant noggin, a scrotum, and a little bit of dog sandwiched between the two… I think. It’s a rarity to hear his name said by me, or my son, without it followed by “bad boy.”

Dang if I don’t love the critter though. The goodest bad boy ever. The best medicine for my innards on days when I'm being haunted by a specter of myself.

We have two small dogs and a kitten. One dog barks a lot; the other digs up our lawn, tries to attack any dog bigger than him, and keeps escaping into the woods. I’m allergic to cats. Animals are all filthy.

Much of my own house feels like hostile territory to me. I haven’t sat in the living room for years, because I don’t like dogs trying to sit on me. Now the kitten is here, I have to keep washing my hands constantly not to have itching eyes all the time, and I think my sinusitis is worse. I hide upstairs when I can.

I walk the dogs every night. Other family members walk them maybe once a month.

I wish we didn’t have pets. They’re a little bit cute and a lot annoying.
I was a teenager before it was cool.

Aww sounds nice.

We had a hamster recently, she lived a year and a half. It was strange to see she was really clever and had a personality. You don't tend to think hamsters would. But I had to take her to the vet and they put her to sleep. Her pouch fell out and she was chewing it and they put her under to put it back in multiple times but she kept pushing it back out and it was very swollen. I never knew that could happen and it has made me nervous to get another one.

I would love a dog but have been nervous to because I have chronic pain and I feel it would be hard to train a puppy. I've looked at adopting older dogs but they seem to always say they can't place dogs with kids.

I'm glad that the three dogs have a nice home with somebody who can take care of them.

What do you think will happen with the pets of the 20 million immigrants you want to deport? Families will be split up, who does the dog go with? In many cases the dogs will go to the pound. It's nice to hear about the easy mediocre life handed to you based on where you were born. It's too bad you sit behind the computer in fear, ready to press the buttons of fascism in order to protect what's yours at the barest of threats.

You thought this thread - a thread about pets - was a good place for you to launch another personal attack?

Your loyalty and commitment to the ideological mob here is very impressive. It really is.
