There Are No Words...

Post by Some Schmo »

...to express what damned morons Trump voters and non-voters are. Are you damned retarded people paying attention to what's happening to your beloved "greatest country on earth"? Probably not; why start now?

You whined about the economy, we told you Trump would make it worse, but you're too damned stupid to see what's obvious. Suffer, you damned retarded fools. You're so stupid, you think this is what winning looks like. Morons.

Lawrence O'Donnell is pissed as hell, too. Watch this thing.

Lawrence on Trump's 'vile, antisemitic' attack on Schumer: Trump's mind is gone. It is shattered.

I got another one from the other day if anyone is interested. I'll post it here in a bit. Listening to the above for probably the 4th time.

Schmo, people couldn't be following what's going on and be okay with it.

I think the following is apropos to this new thread:
'Disastrous for Trump': President's ex-lawyer says Musk handed GOP a 'ticking time bomb'
Donald Trump's former lawyer argued that Elon Musk would be a major liability for his agenda moving forward.

The tech billionaire bought himself a prominent perch in the president's second administration by contributing more than $277 million to his 2024 re-election campaign, but former Trump lawyer Michael Cohen wrote on his Substack page that Musk would present a major political problem for Republicans.

"It takes a special kind of arrogance, bordering on megalomania, to look at a former astronaut, Navy captain, and combat veteran who nearly lost his wife to an assassination attempt and call him a traitor," Cohen wrote. "But that’s exactly what Elon Musk did to Senator Mark Kelly after the Arizona Democrat voiced his unwavering support for Ukraine. And in doing so, Musk just handed Donald Trump and the GOP another ticking time bomb set to detonate right in their laps."

The South Africa-born Musk fancies himself a kingmaker in the Republican Party, Cohen wrote, but he has torched his credibility with veterans by cutting more than 80,000 jobs at the Veterans Administration and alienated others by attacking Kelly, who flew combat missions in Operation Desert Storm and served as a NASA astronaut.

"By attacking a decorated veteran, he’s driving even more of them away from the GOP; a party that still desperately needs their votes," Cohen wrote. "For Trump, this is disastrous. Veterans are still pissed with him, thanks to his documented history of calling them 'suckers' and 'losers,' disrespecting Senator John McCain by refusing to acknowledge him as a war hero, and botching policies meant to support them. Musk’s latest meltdown isn’t going to help. Veterans aren’t going to look at Musk’s unhinged ranting against Mark Kelly and think, 'Yeah, this guy speaks for me.' They’re going to see yet another wealthy, out-of-touch billionaire attacking one of their own; and by extension, themselves."

Cohen wrote that Republicans faced a long-term electoral crisis in the making as independents shift left and suburban voters turn against MAGA policies, and he said Musk's attacks on veterans presented another obstacle to retaining their congressional majorities in next year's midterms.

"The GOP’s continued obsession with Musk isn’t just bad politics; it’s electoral suicide," Cohen wrote. "They have hitched their wagon to a man who not only has no loyalty to their party but also thrives on controversy, chaos, and alienating crucial voting blocs. It’s a disaster in the making, and the worst part? They know it. They just don’t have the spine to do anything about it."

"Elon Musk may think he’s the future of American politics," Cohen added Wednesday. "But if he keeps this up, he’s going to make sure the GOP doesn’t have one."
Emphasis added.

As stated at the beginning, even "Donald Trump's former lawyer argued that Elon Musk would be a major liability for his agenda moving forward."

Of course, I think that Trump, himself, is eventually going to prove to ". . .be a major liability for his agenda moving forward," if there is enough sanity left amongst the majority of American voters.

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

I know. At our library board meeting, one board member who teaches in a neighboring town said they were having absentee problems because ICE had swept up some parents, but left the kids. Neighbors were caring for kids but they have no help so families are just staying behind doors.

Also. Federal lunches and breakfast are going to be canceled, teachers are worried about feeding kids. I told this to a Trump supporter, their response was, 'let's see if that really happens.' What an utter asshole.

Here's the other one from O'Donnell. There's tons more I could share but I think that the 2 I've posted are the most significant.

What's going on has so many tentacles it's hard to know where to start, where to go, and where to end so far as commenting goes. Let me just whip out some stuff.

Narcissists don't get better as they age. They get worse. In the case of Trump we're looking at a guy who doesn't know how the world works, how people work, how life works, basically how ANYTHING works. We're seeing those features at play right now, it gets exponentially worse by the actual minute and goes on throughout the night until we wake up again and see what horrific thing he's done while we were sleeping.

When he won the election I vowed that I wouldn't follow him like I did the first time around. I didn't want to invest my time giving the man so much as the time of day. But in spite of the fact that I've been ill for such a long time (now recovering) and while I've tried not to get too dialed (stress avoidance--my health more important) in to what Trump is doing, it's become IMPOSSIBLE to look away and still think of myself as a responsible person.

If it weren't so wide scale destructive, I'd be laughing myself silly at the shitshow happening before my very eyes.

The pissing contest about tariffs. He told some reporter on AF1 that we're going to have so much money coming IN on account of tariffs that we won't know how to spend it all. WHAT? Money coming IN? WE are going to pay for the tariffs. Does Trump think I'm stupid? Does he even know how tariffs work? No, because he doesn't know anything about anything.

He wants to bring manufacturing back to the US. Too many abandoned factories or some time warped crap like that. Does he know anything about the US tech industry? No, because he doesn't know anything about anything. And apparently neither do his supporters.

Do his supporters realize he's bullshitting every time he opens his mouth? They okay with that?

He's jerking around the stock market. He's taking a significant amount of money straight out of my very ass at this point.

He wants to pull troops out of Ramstein. Does he even know what the mission of Ramstein is? Does he know what HQ USAFE is there for? Nope. Doesn't know, doesn't care to know. Grandstanding is more important.

The crap with Russia and Ukraine. He kisses Putin's ass because he hasn't got the spine or the wherewithal to stand up to Putin. He couldn't negotiate his way out of a paper bag. So he aligns himself with Putin because he's scared shitless of Putin and figures he can gaslight a relationship with him. So sure. Flip the reality script, screw with Ukraine/Zelensky, make Putin your "friend", alienate our allies (moron), and pull troops out of Ramstein.

Putin must be smiling ear to ear in his waking hours. Even in his sleep.

Forgot where I was going next...regrouping.

Oh yeah, fraud, waste and abuse. President Musk, is out there cutting out gov't fraud, waste, and abouse. Another guy who has no blessed clue how anything works. So his idea of cutting out fraud, waste, and abuse is to fire people. In other words, the PEOPLE are the fraud, waste, and abuse. Why? Because he doesn't know that examination takes time. He doesn't even know there's a NEED to investigate before one takes aim at fraud, waste, and abuse in gov't. I worked for the fed gov. The fraud, waste, and abuse was always in the contracting and requisition processes end of things. Maybe things have changed. I'd say it probably hasn't changed and that's what needs investigation, and that could be done if only they didn't fire the freaking IG's.

This is what happens when idiot billionaires are put in charge. They know nothing about these processes. They have "people" who do it for them. They both went to Wharton and neither of them knows how to run anything. Were they smoking dope before class or something. Did their daddies buy their degrees for them?

The VA, Social Security, DoE, what else. Oh yeah, planning to put random gov't buildings on the market to be sold. And on and on and on.

It's ignorant. It's sloppy. It's lazy. It's freaking manic. And all this crap is coming out of ONE guy and his side kick. They aren't directing anything. They're 2 naïve little boys (with executive dysfunction) waving their wands around making crap go away and calling it progress.

The thing is, is that I still can't put my finger on why I'm not worried out of my mind. Maybe I expected him to flood the zone with crap. Why be surprised or shocked when he does it? The only surprising part is how fast and how far he's doing it. Has he even been in office for two months yet?

Hold on. Looking something up.

He's signed 89 executive order's in the time he's been in office so far. Another example of his fantasy wand waving.

Okay I'm done for now. Maybe. I guess the only thing that surprises me in all of this is how willing I think his supporters seem to be to relinquish their responsibilities as citizens of this country to a man who isn't "all there". Is it trust? Is it pride? I don't know. I can't see any rational person looking at all of this and thinking it's okay when clearly it is not.

I almost forgot to say this. If you haven't seen Bernie Sanders town hall style appearances/rallies, you really need to. Also, Tim Walz is now going to get out and do the same. We are in desperate need of folks like these getting out and giving people a voice, and validating their concerns. They both have the wherewithal to effect change.

Schmo, people couldn't be following what's going on and be okay with it.
I suspect there's a huge segment of the population who love it. I think there's a large contingent of idiots whose lives are so miserable, they didn't vote for someone who'd make their lives better. They voted for someone to make everyone else's lives as horrible as theirs are. Trump fans are broken people. They have to be.
