These are the same yahoos who claimed that the Grand Theft Auto video games were going to destroy the very fabric of civilized society. And before that it was claims that marijuana was causing people to go on violent killing sprees.

The fact is, this troubled young adult made some drastic changes in his life that took him to the point where he felt the impulses to kill another human being. He had been a fine and outstanding student and then…crash.
What may have contributed to his sudden personality/character changes I’m sure will come out. From what we’ve heard he came from a conservative family who had raised him to be something other than what he became. If nothing else, we ought to pay attention to what might have ‘turned him’ and look at what might be done to decrease the chances of this happening again.
A lot of folks on the far left seem to blame guns almost exclusively. It might be worth considering the changes in society and culture that might play also an important part in what we’re seeing and try and do something about it.
