RFM vs. Gary E. Stevenson
Podcast: Removing Racist Scripture
RFM highlights apostle Gary Stevenson's fake facade and rips him a new one in showing how the Church is erasing racist passages from certain versions of the Book of Mormon for black Africans.
Great job, RFM! And you kept it well under an hour, thank God.

5:21 And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.Shulem wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 2:17 amPodcast: Removing Racist Scripture

Even when I was a pasty white TBM all those ages ago, I never understood how "the curse" was supposed to be a cock blocker to delightsome white guys being enticed by blacks and browns. I've been enticed by a lot of blacks and browns in my life. You better believe it. And some of the early Mormon missionaries were enticed too, given their fornication with Native Americans.
You failed, Mormon God!
Love, Bill.
Still enticed.

Yes, Bill - in my opinion one would need to be quite strongly racist to think that a person, regardless of sex, would automatically be repulsed by someone otherwise attractive whose skin was of a specific colour.bill4long wrote: ↑Sun Oct 26, 2025 3:02 am5:21 And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. You can bet the Smith family brothers nailed only white girls (boys too) behind the back of the barn.
I wonder how old Joseph was when he lost his virginity?

That really was a good catch, malkie.
Joseph Smith's racist ideology is forever imprinted in the covers of the Book of Mormon and serves for a double whammy in exposing Smith's personal feelings of how white supremacy was engrained in his mind and that interracial relations between the colors was repugnant in nature. I think it's safe to say that Joseph was not physically or sexually attracted to women of color and in his mind he figured this was the general nature or norm of all white men. It certainly exposes the shallow nature of the God of the Book of Mormon who was not only a jack-ass but a murderer at heart -- someone I would not want to spend my time with seeing the character of Book of Mormon God is an abomination. Book of Mormon God turns me off!
I really, really, dislike Mormonism.

A Merry White Christmas!
I wish, I wish, this thread was neatly packaged in attractive pamphlet form and given to every black Mormon who lives in Africa as a Christmas gift. Wouldn't that be delightsome?
Merry Christmas, Africa!

Re: Question for Don Bradley
The Book of Mormon is full of 19th-century racism. It is blatantly racist and condescending towards non-white people. The church needs to bite the bullet and either do a major rewrite or, better still, drop it from the canon. Neither will be easy. For a century and a half, prophets have touted it as the most correct book on earth. But a 250B organization should be able to take a hit like that and survive. They would probably lose a lot of the Boomers, though.

Re: Question for Don Bradley
The following was taught as part of the Priesthood lessons well into the 2000’s…
Bonus question, why is race a component part of LDS “eternity”? Because of it wasn’t, an eternal companions race would cease to matter following the “blink of an eye” earthly existence.
Bonus question, why is this official Church teaching no longer taught, and what does that say about any/all current teachings?
For clarification, and to be clear…the Church was still teaching against mixed race marriages 30 years after the racist Priesthood and Temple ban was lifted. Teaching 12-18 year olds to avoid mixed race marriages simply on the basis of race. Here is a link to the contents of the full teaching manual, which was published in 1995. https://rikers.org/LDS/manuals/ap3/index.html The link might appear broken so the website addrsss is: Rikers.org and go from there to Lesson 31 “choosing an eternal companion”“We recommend that people marry those who are of the same racial background generally, and of somewhat the same economic and social and educational background (some of
those are not an absolute necessity, but preferred), and above all, the same religious background, without question” (“Marriage and Divorce,” in 1976 Devotional Speeches of
the Year [Provo: Brigham Young University Press, 1977], p. 144).

Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

The Church has a long history of looking down on people of color. The self-righteous attitude (holier than thou) of Mormon prophets who condemned the African race for being the seed of Cain was not just an abomination but is of the same spirit and mindset that causes people to hate each other and start wars. Hence, the priesthood ban, if you will, was of the spirit of Satan, and Church Presidents were operatives of Satanic thinking.
Shame on the Church. And, shame on Don Bradley for supporting racism in the Book of Mormon! I think it stinks.
PS. I don't believe in a literal Satan or the devil -- it is a figurative expression. It serves to express how people fit within a mold of hatred -- Mormon racism is of the devil. It reeks like Satan!
I rebuke the Church in the name of God!
