In the spirit of full disclosure, I don't believe Revelation (or Daniel, for that matter) were telling of future events. I think they were written for the people of the time, and that those reading it likely understood the symbolism and were able to tie it to things that were happening around them.
My jabs of Trump being an Antichrist are more towards the Biblical literalists who weaponize the Bible when it helps them victimize others, or maintain power, but wholly fail to apply their own interpretive methods when it would weaponize the Bible against their chosen golden calves.

In my various musings of research into this 666 isn’t a random evil number. We understand that it’s a first-century code, and when you decode it the way John’s audience would have, it points straight to Nero and the Roman Empire. This is the most famous interpretation. I shall have to get some texts out and check some other things. It's fascinating how throughout my own lifetime, Saddam Hussein was a spitfire choice. So was Richard Nixon if I remember right.
