Everything the Church does these days is designed, primarily, to preserve the patriarchy, and increase income. Any charitable donations etc that it authorises are simply just marketing spend.Gadianton wrote: ↑Sun Oct 11, 2026 10:30 pmJust so you know, IHQ, had you said this about any other organization, a church, a country; like had you said North Korea, you wouldn't have just been called a cynic.IHQ wrote:Church does not have the best interest of those young people at heart. Church leaders sit on an eye watering amount of liquid funds, that they don’t use except to generate its own growth. And at the same time watch and read about people going hungry, people in need etc. Then pontificate that the members need to do more to help others. Does any rational minded and objective person see any evidence that this is what Christ would be doing were he in charge of this organisation the so-called Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? Can anyone point to any evidence in the Bible that Jesus is pro the accumulation of wealth whilst others go hungry?
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

But they are. From the age of 12 males are called to the priesthood and given God’s authority to be a spiritual advisor. Females are not.Gadianton wrote: ↑Sat Oct 10, 2026 4:00 pmSince Mormons think the father is the "patriarch" of the household in training to become a God, it's kind of hard to imagine that Mormon dads aren't called to be spiritual advisors.
Priesthood
Now it’s a bit mealy mouthed. When they say “gives to man” they mean “gives to men”, but they want to spin it so that women no longer feel as left out, whilst they retain and reinforce the patriarchy. The word priesthood has two meanings. First, priesthood is the power and authority of God. It has always existed and will continue to exist without end.1 Through the priesthood, God created and governs the heavens and the earth. Through this power, He exalts His obedient children, bringing to pass “the immortality and eternal life of man.”2
Second, in mortality, priesthood is the power and authority that God gives to man to act in all things necessary for the salvation of God’s children.

For the church to do and carry out the works and teachings of Jesus Christ in the modern world the system/method of delivery is going to naturally be different than that which had its seedbed/beginnings in the ancient world.
Natural evolution would require that this be so. I think the Savior is happy with the progress the modern church has made. Especially when having to deal with the headwinds and obstacles that naturally get in the way.

MG

If there was corruption that took place.
I’ll ask again. Are you a Creedal Christian?

Do you not understand your own statements or are you just trolling?
You said things would naturally be different. But if they were a restoration, then they wouldn’t be different.
Again, you said “naturally be different than that which had its seedbed/beginnings in the ancient world.”
What are you trying to say?
I asked you first, I’ll answer yours if you answer mine lol

Your first sentence was unnecessary and did not add to the conversation.Limnor wrote: ↑Mon Oct 12, 2026 8:09 pmDo you not understand your own statements or are you just trolling?

The Restoration involved that which was lost along with additional light and knowledge. Evolution occurs over time and may travel some 'speed bumps'...corruption and other factors...along the way as development and maturation occurs.
The reason I'm asking if you are a Creedal Christian has mainly to do with whether you believe in the Triune God.
Was it this God that Jesus taught of during His ministry?

MG
