Just to clarify, I was speaking of the dates you had listed.

Is it possible that he went up on a cloud?

11th Hour
Yes, of course, I understand, my dear.
The next 10 years will come and go. Everything will continue as is and the Christian pipe dream which is based solely on faith of ancient verses (which I believe were doctored by pious religionists) will continue unfulfilled. Christians will continue to be disappointed, generation after generation. And the Mormons? Well, their so-called latter-day pitch will get older and more stale as the years continue and Smith's ministry becomes even more distant. The name of the Church will almost certainly change in order to keep up with the times! The Church will reorganize and adjust its stance on the Second Coming.
Adam Clarke: "Five o'clock in the evening, when there was only one hour before the end of the Jewish day, which, in matters of labour, closed at six."
One last call for alcohol Mormonism before the bar closes Jesus returns!Bible Hub wrote:The term "Eleventh Hour" is often used metaphorically to describe a last-minute opportunity or a critical moment just before a deadline. This concept finds its roots in the Parable of the Workers in the Vineyard, as recorded in the Gospel of Matthew. The phrase has since permeated Christian thought and culture, symbolizing God's grace and the urgency of repentance and salvation.
After Joseph Smith's untimely death, everything he ever said or implied in various prophecies presented during his ministry about the Second Coming being ushered in under his prophetic head are null and void -- CANCELLED. Nonetheless, the brethren remained faithful that the day was soon at hand:D&C 33 (1830) wrote:1 Behold, I say unto you, my servants Ezra and Northrop...
2 For verily, verily, I say unto you that ye are called to lift up your voices...
3 For behold, the field is white already to harvest; and it is the eleventh hour, and the last time that I shall call laborers into my vineyard.
10 Yea, open your mouths and they shall be filled, saying: Repent, repent, and prepare ye the way of the Lord, and make his paths straight; for the kingdom of heaven is at hand;
17 Wherefore, be faithful, praying always, having your lamps trimmed and burning, and oil with you, that you may be ready at the coming of the Bridegroom—
18 For behold, verily, verily, I say unto you, that I come quickly. Even so. Amen.
Wrong again! The brethren will not "see" Jesus return in their lifetimes and neither will many generations that follow them to the extent that a whopping 182 years will pass (year 2026) and Jesus will not have returned. And yet the Church will still claim the 11th hour is ongoing, the day is at hand, and not many years will pass before he returns.Times and Seasons, 15 July 1844 wrote:"To the Saints Abroad.
"Dear Brethren;
Remember that all the prophets and saints who have existed since the world began, are engaged in this holy work, and are yet in the vineyard, as well as the laborers of the eleventh hour; and are all pledged to establish the Kingdom of God on the earth, and to give judgement unto the Saints; therefore, none can hinder the rolling on of the eternal purposes of the Great Jehovah. And we have now every reason to believe that the fulfilment of His great purposes are much nearer than we had supposed, and that not many years hence, we shall see the Kingdom of God coming with power and great glory to our deliverance.
It is the great lie.

Re: 11th Hour
Christian believers keep saying the end is near or the day is at hand, etc. But the 11th hour according to Smith's prophecy is the last time, period. At what point do Mormon believers hang it up and let go of their faith? 200 years? 500 years? 10,000 years? More?

In my mind it comes down to whether or not Jesus is/was who He purports...and other witnesses purport...that He was/is.Shulem wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2026 12:07 amChristian believers keep saying the end is near or the day is at hand, etc. But the 11th hour according to Smith's prophecy is the last time, period. That makes ALL the difference in the way your questions/doubts are approached/answered.

So you think a deadline is of no force? Anything goes? Whatever it takes to maintain the faith. And that's all it will ever be, faith in something that will never happen.
I feel sorry for you, MG.

Re: 11th Hour
What I'm saying is that if Jesus was/is who He is believed to be by many...it is He, under the direction of God the Father who will determine when He returns for the last time. Not you, not a church leader...no one.
No one knoweth but 'the Father'.
Everything else is guesswork. Believers try and live, however, as if it were to be in their lifetime. No real harm in that is there?

If you read this thread and the materials I quoted from scripture (and comprehend it) you will see that scripture specifically states that Christ was soon to return. That was the message given by Jesus himself and the apostles. Joseph Smith repeated it. But the deadline has passed on both occasions.MG 2.0 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2026 10:10 pmWhat I'm saying is that if Jesus was/is who He is believed to be by many...it is He, under the direction of God the Father who will determine when He returns for the last time. It didn't happen. It's a false prophecy. It's a hoax.

If multiple persons have given conflicting and unfulfilled predictions of the return of Christ and they're all wrong...why would we trust any of them? Or anyone else?Shulem wrote: ↑Fri Oct 23, 2026 11:08 pmIf you read this thread and the materials I quoted from scripture (and comprehend it) you will see that scripture specifically states that Christ was soon to return. The New Testament scripture is pretty clear on the point of 'who knows'.

There is no If about it, because multiple persons have given conflicting and unfulfilled predictions of the return of Christ and they're all wrong, period! And I don't care about why! You are certainly welcome to try and refute my earlier posts that tells how scripture foretold the imminent coming of Christ that was soon to take place, although admittedly an actual date was not part of the prophecy. Other biblical prophecies in the Old Testament and even in the Book of Mormon offered prophecies that gave the exact number of days or years in which something was to take place But of that day and hour for the time of the Second Coming was to remain a mystery to keep Christians in check and ever busy living their religion. The coming of Christ was to remain a mystery, open ended, with the warning that everyone was to prepare because it would come suddenly like a thief in the night. Nobody was to know which hour, day, week, month, or even the year in which Christ was to come. But he was to come in THAT generation and and THAT is my point! And there is nothing you can say to change it.
My argument is rock solid and bullet proof and I am very capable of dealing with the likes of you and your little troll tricks.
Bring it on, sucker!
