Trump Train?

Post by Jersey Girl »

I have no idea what a Trump Train is but apparently (according to a resident on Nextdoor) there is one happening in town. The resident is someone I've known for at least 2 decades here. I don't have words to say how disappointed I am to see her post that but then again, to each his/her own. This is America after all. Or it was.

When someone asked her what day (because in her haste she forgot to say) she actually wrote in caps TOMORROW AT 12:30PM!!!!!

Has anyone had a Trump Train in their area? I don't know what it is. Like a parade of vehicles or something? What happens if a Trump Train runs off the rails?

Oh wait.

I think it is a parade of pickup trucks with Confederate flags and several guys in the back of each pickup, armed with maga hats and assault rifles. A case of Budweiser is probably optional. At least that is my guess.

Sounds about right for the Wild West!

When I drive through our neighborhood (which is kind of remote, out in the literal sticks) I've seen a number of Trump flags on fences and mail boxes. I guess the idea is to drive through the actual main town and I dunno...make an impression? Gin up the base?

I'm not into that kind of thing at all and never would be.

Oh I just got on there to see the thread again. Someone is complaining about political posts being put on there. The OP has posted like twice the day and time on the thread. Like no one can read the OP and she can't edit it?

It never fails to amaze me how people don't know what they're doing when they post online. Like she posted the day/time in CAPS already. Does she think someone missed that?

What the heck. Country folk.

ETA: I just checked the ND policies and the post is allowed. It's just that..I dunno...people out here are armed to the teeth so you might not want to get all up in their faces about stuff like politics. Which is why I shut my mouth at local level and grace you all with my junk on MDB.

“... are these folks prepared for a world post-Trump?” Klepper asked viewers.

The answer was apparently no, as one woman told him that if Trump loses, she “will not live under a socialist government” so instead will be headed to Costa Rica, which Klepper informed her has universal health care.“

This reminds me of so many times subjenius, ajax, markk, ldsfaqs, or ‘that cheery christian guy who finally snapped and left’ would make some absurd claim that was, in fact, the exact opposite of reality. I had a small back and forth with a guy who claimed America wasn’t a democracy a la Senator Mike Lee, and when pressed for more information he just got angry. So many folks on the Right just say stuff, and their only defense is either another absurd pivot or a whatabout that some how justifies their inanity.

Anyway. That was a long-winded way of getting to my poiint. I took a long drive through Trump country yesterday and there are roadside kiosks that sell Trump and Conservative flags. One of them had the words, literally, “All aboard the Trump train.”

If I had to guess what a Trump Train is, I'd say it's a roller coaster without safety harnesses. Basically, it's the kind of thing only an idiot would ride.

These Trump Trains were all over the Salt Lake Valley today as Mormons showed they are all about Trump (since he is the modern recreation of their King Noah). Because it was Utah they left their Confederate and American flags home.
