Here was another fine soul. A person of great creativity, talent, passion, and intelligence: grindael. We were fortunate to have him on our board. I also enjoyed following his contributions to the Mormon Historians Facebook group. Sometimes I argued with him pretty heatedly, but I knew his heart was in the right place. His research was so important for our understanding of Mormon polygamy. Things that other scholars missed, grindael would put together. I wish he had been able to publish his work formally. As it is, much of his stuff is in danger of being lost.
We miss you, brother. You were among the best of us, and now you are gone. God speed, if you are out there.
"I have learned with what evils tyranny infects a state. For it frustrates all the virtues, robs freedom of its lofty mood, and opens a school of fawning and terror, inasmuch as it leaves matters not to the wisdom of the laws, but to the angry whim of those who are in authority.”
Grindael was published. Here is one from2017, he also had one in the same journal earlier this year, and presented it at their 2019 conference.
Stephenson, Johnny Volume 40 Number 1 2020. "Forerunner or Revisionist? The Puzzle of Solomon Chamberlain"
Johnny Stephenson and H. Michael Marquardt. “Origin of the Baptism for the Dead Doctrine,” John Whitmer Historical Association Journal 37, no. 1: 132-146.
He also posted so much of his current work here, all the more reason for our archives. His blog also is a great source.
In my entire life, I don't think I have learned as much LDS church history from any other person as I have from grindael in the last 5 years. Reading his process as he posted drafts here was equally fascinating. I miss him also.

Thanks, Lem! His blog was a great resource too.

As promised, his Paradise threads (80-ish posts) are already moved to the archives though one remains incomplete until I finish. I miss him so much. Cried through the whole entire transfer.
There was a lot of interest in transferring his Terrestrial threads. Is anyone working on that or planning to come forward to volunteer?
Please do so.

Anyone? A core of volunteers? Gad said he was having intermittent access issues with the previous board. I think he suspected that it could somehow crash. That's why I moved the Paradise threads right away because I think we could lose them.
I wouldn't know where to begin with the Mormon history threads or posts. I have no idea how to locate the important posts/threads and I wouldn't know how to organize them. I wouldn't even know the value of what I was reading.
Could someone please step forward?

I am sure we will start to get these moved after the election gets settled. I know that I will happily pitch in.

Okay, Kish.
