They are at it again after several (more than 3) very public demands by Jewish organizations to stop the necrobaptizing of Jews.

This underscores the LDS penchant to ignore others and just do what they damn well please.

It is unacceptable for this to happen and is degrading to those affected, both for the dead and the family of these individuals.

It seems to me that this could be solved very simply: stop performing this "work" until the Millennium...unless this is already the Millennium and then I would like the Church to say it. But in lieu of that, the temple work seems to lack any inspiration to guide it.

It would be interesting to see if Helen Radkey really had a recent submission this time around. Her last big announcement sort of fizzled. While they should be taking every precaution to make sure this sort of thing does not slip into their database, it must be hard to keep a vigilant watch over such an enormous database with so many points of entry.

Hello There,

They are also having a discussion about this over on the MA&D Message Board (formally called the 'FAIR' Message Board). Here are a few of the Posts from over there:

The O.P. of that Thread named 'stargat' wrote:

Comments?

Here is the Second Post of that Thread written by an LDS Apologist there named 'structurecop' over there:

This is so petty it is disgusting. I'd like to know two things -- what is a posthumous baptism going to do to the memory of Simon Wiesenthal? -- and if I decide to perform ordinances on behalf of my OWN deceased Jewish ancestors, what business does this mysterious ambiguous organization of Jews, or the Church for that matter, have in trying to hamper my efforts?

We got to keep in mind here that according to the TBM 'structurecop' over there, there is only one true gospel and that one true Gospel according to his is just Mormonism. Here is what he wrote on another discussion thread over there:

Speaking of F&T meeting, I just wanted to voice a gripe. I really dislike when people say, "this Gospel" as in "I know this Gospel is true..." as if there are multiple Gospels. There is only one TRUE Gospel, everything else is just counterfeit.

So according to that LDS Apologist 'structurecop' over their, the only Religious faith that is valid and true is Utah Mormonismaccording to him.
Here is the third Post of that Thread written by the Poster there named 'Pantsman' over there:

In discussions with Jews about this topic on a Catholic board (they were talking about LDS baptizing Pope John Paul II), the orthodox Jews are incensed about the LDS proxy baptisms. He said that the LDS stopped doing it so they can have a Temple in Israel. But it is definitely a huge sore point with most religious Jews I've discussed the issue with.

And here is how that LDS Apologist 'structurecop' responded to the Post of 'Pantsman' over there:

If they don't believe in our theology, what difference does it make? Is our "false" vicarious baptism going to effect their non-existent ancestors somehow? I am disappointed that the Church entered into this agreement, especially if it was part of concessions in order to get the BYU-Jerusalem Center built. By the way, how frequently has the BYU-J center been able to operate in the last 5 years?

And yet accorsing to that LDS Apologists 'structurecop' over there, all other theogies are false exept for Utah Mormonism according to him. Remember that he gets upset at People in Fast and testimony Meetings who basically state that, 'they know this Gospel is true.' He believe that Utah Mormonism is the only true Gosepl in the whole word, and any other Gospel out there is just counterfeit.
And Now here is what the Poster there wrote named 'Pantsman' over there:

Most Catholics didn't care at all because they believe it's an empty action and has no bearing on Pope John Paul II's salvation, some took offense to it. But the orthodox or even just religious Jews were mad man, they took it as a direct rubbing of salt into the holocaust survivors wounds.

Are there any religious Jews who post here? Maybe they can explaint heir objections to the practice.
