I think he is referring to Levi S. Peterson, editor of Dialogue.
I don't see a conspiracy here. Sunstone is in a position where it is reviled by many believers and critics. It has shrinking readership and is seeking to redefine itself again. Dan was probably low paid and overworked. He has a PhD--he probably just got burned out and is moving on to something new.
