I'm betting any faith that fits this description will have exmembers who "can't leave it alone".
This is certainly true of Jehovah's Witnesses. I posted a few times on an exJayDub (my term, not theirs) board a few months ago and saw pretty much the same thing over there that we see over here. It's almost like a virtual support group for ex-members of and critics of the JWs. The only difference is that no current JWs would dare go anywhere near that site, while we have some current Mormons posting here to help mix things up a bit.

Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
I think this is one of the reasons why I'm stuck on repeat when it comes to claims and integrity. For years it was drummed into our heads that the search for truth is one of the highest things we can do as a Mormon, that the glory of God is intelligence, etc... And yet, what I see from Mormons is a complete lack of introspection and integrity when it comes to their assertions. We're supposed to be satisified that their "good feelings" about whatever topic is truth itself, more true than anything for that matter, and voila... We're set.
It was when I realized that they really weren't interested in truth-seeking, but maintaining the assertion of truth by all means and at all costs that it dawned on me we're simply dealing with people mired in hollow cliches and sloganeering. What a shame. And of course, to be fair, they're no different than anyone else within any given religion or ideology. It's just that their claims do not, in fact, result in them becoming perfected to any more degree than anyone else.
