I'll be honest: The Olivewood Bookstore is a short drive away from my house, so I definitely would've gone to it had I known about it.
Why, you ask? This is for two reasons:
First, to get a handle on what sort of apologetics are de rigeur these days. You can't do much better than getting it straight from "the horse's mouth," as they say. This is how I became updated on John Gee's latest thoughts vis-a-vis the Book of Abraham.
Second, say what you want about Daniel Peterson, but the straight fact of the matter is that he's a highly talented and engaging public speaker. If I had known about it in advance, I probably would've attended no matter what topic he was speaking on.
Well, heck. I'd have gone too, if for no other reason than the entertainment value. Kinda a long drive for me to make, though.
