I agree. The church is completely full of s***, and whatever goodness is in it doesn't hide the stench.

Not sure if anyone else got the joke, but this is a parody of the Brownie object lesson from church. I heard it in church a couple times and Googled a version here.
"We of this Church do not rely on any man-made statement concerning the nature of Deity. Our knowledge comes directly from the personal experience of Joseph Smith." - Gordon B. Hinckley

"It's wrong to criticize leaders of the Mormon Church even if the criticism is true." - Dallin H. Oaks

Oh, I certainly got it, all right. The author of this particular piece cleverly decided to use the same logic against the Mormons' own downplayal (sp?) of their history.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

Aha! I knew that sounded familiar, but I had this nagging feeling that the first time I read it, I wasn't as impressed.

How funny (and clever). Nothing like using their own logic against them (not that the original was written by Mormons, but I'm sure they'd use it for their own benefit).

It may quite well have been, since the original context was about two girls wanting to see a Rated R movie that only had a few minor bad parts.
