As a Latter-day Saint and a scholar who is interested in the academic work coming from BYU, and especially from personal acquaintences, I think it fits well within the parameters. If others would prefer this forum be reserved exclusively for topics about which cynics can freely bitch, maybe somebody needs to make that a rule. As it is, this is the "catch-all" forum for "general topics and debates."

Is this book used today in medicine? Why do this when the funds can be used for poor people. Is this a grant or pork?
