Yikes! I do think Romney has flipped flopped on some issues like abortion but who among the current candidates hasn't flip flopped on something (with exception of Ron Paul)? The commentary on Later Day Saints seems way over the top though. I'm so sorry Mormons still have to deal with this sort of thing. He certainly is a strong candidate with an admirable track record as governor and in business. I hope people vote for or against him based on his platform and record only. I like to think we are all becoming more enlightened but I fear I am a bit naïve at times.

I do believe Romney will be against abortion and gay marriage and help to destroy Obamacare among other things no matter what his past record was. Positions as stated, he's far more preferable to any of the other GOP candidates including Paul though not as perfect a conservative as the nation would want.

Some of that rests on who is better able to beat Obama in the election. I don't think the other candidates have a chance.

How so? Both you and I might easily take stock of someone and speculate as to whether or not they might be the type of person to accept the gospel.

1 - you have no idea if there is actually an afterlife
2 - assuming there is an afterlife, you have no idea if Mormonism is gods chosen religion
3 - assuming Mormonism is gods chosen religion, you have no idea if the silly things momo's do in their temples actually affect anything in the afterlife.
4 - assuming the silly things momo's do in the temple actually affect the afterlife (in other words, Mormon god is a completely looney weakling who has people to pretent to be other people WHILE pretending to be other people in order for them to be allowed into Mormon heaven), you have no idea if anne frank actually accepted the baptism performed by some random person, at some random momo temple.
5 - assuming ann frank actually decided to accept the baptism performed for her as outlined above, you have no idea is she will remain active (only about 30-40% of converts do), "accept the gospel" and join elohim in the CK (after finding a momo man and marrying him in the momo temple - which is a requirement....)

The hard-boiled TBM response to the question of why God sent an angel to enforce Smith's polygamy, but not to spare the Jews from the Holocaust, actually will be that, in the grand eternal scheme, failure to establish the "everlasting covenant of marriage" ultimately would have had far more negative repercussions on the "plan of happiness" than the deaths of 6 million people ever could. Those 6 million people were going to die sooner or later anyway, the hard-boiled TBM will say, and God will make everything right with them in the hereafter.
