Regardless, the testimony of Joseph Smith is dead.

I don't question the death of your testimony, Shulem. Personally I am not all that concerned about the king's name. To me Simon's game is more intriguing, as boring as that is.

The king's name may not be that much of a concern only because you know it doesn't exist. But, Simon hasn't figured out that it doesn't exist and that reflects directly upon Joseph Smith's own testimony. When Simon realizes this, his testimony is cooked. And that's intriguing! Watching Mormon testimonies fry is like sizzling in the truth.

That realization is as interesting to me as the fictitious nature of Greek myth. In short, in itself it is not all that interesting. In a way it is almost tragic that people lose their faith based on such trivia. The fact that Church is increasingly corporate and dull is, in my view, a much more damning strike against it.

Get a hold of yourself, for God's sake. Whether the church is boring or not is not important and has no bearing on the truth -- hence the level of your interest should be measured in that regard. But, if there is a king's name in the Facsimile as Joseph attested, that is what counts! But there is no name. And Simon knows that!

So, when is Simon going to come forward and admit the truth? Simon? Are you a liar like Joseph Smith? What is the king's name in Facsimile No. 3?

Does Daniel C. Peterson wish to comment? Come on, Daniel, fall for the bait. Bite! The trolls are here to devour you!

Just because you collapse upon finding out that myths aren't fact does not mean the rest of us are obliged to do the same.

Get ahold of yourself, guy. I can think of much more tangible reasons why Mormonism doesn't work for you. Shulem is a distant second to that, or at least it ought to be.

I don't mind being wrong once in a while. But this time, I'm right, Kishy.

What is 2 + 2?

So there.

Paul, there are certainly bigger tragedies than your complete lack of poetic imagination. Indeed, you are probably in the majority on this one. Your loss, I say, but that loss is not about Mormonism really.

My lack of poetic imagination is not even a factor. Trust me on that. I can prove it if need be.

The Facsimile No. 3 is the nail in the coffin. Everything else should be discussed on the side.

Either there is a name or there is not. Either the church is true or it is not. Etc.

It is not a factor for you because you have no clue what I am talking about. But just because you have no clue or interest does not mean others don't. We don't all see the world through your eyes. We don't have to. The papyri don't make you right somehow. You're just railing against a simplistic understanding. So who cares? Why should apologists care? The only reason they do is because the world is full of people who are illiterate in the way you are. Heck, many of the amateur apologists are too. That's not a knock on your intelligence, but a criticism of our age.

By all means continue harping on this point. What do I care? I'm simply unimpressed, and don't be surprised to find that I am not the only one, believer or not.
