Why Me,

Which blog more closely reflects a Christlike style?
[ ] MsJacks
[ ] DCP's

As a follow up.
What atrocities committed by Mormon's do you think DCP should use his blog to apologise for?

Why should she have to rectify every perceived wrong to Mormons before stating her opinions on her own blog post?

All the Best!

MsJack has an agenda and her agenda is against the LDS church. However, since she is a protestant she needs to look into her own faith and see the injustices of her own faith before she constantly attacks the LDS church.

Tobin wrote:Actually, Ms Jack nailed the Church with two things (and I'll add a third thing they should do):

1) The Church should just acknowledge that the doctrine taught denying blacks the priesthood was a racist, man-made doctrine and apologize for all those things that were taught and endorsed about it during the years it was believed. It would clear the air and separate the current Church from them. I also don't buy the argument that other Churches should be required to apologize (after all, which is the "true" Church here?!?). Come on Mormons, be the better man.

Blacks were rather well treated as members of the LDS church. I see no reason to apologize. Now if they were given the back pews while whites and others were given the front pews, yes, I can see an apology for that kind of behavior. Back in the day, all sat together in the same pews as equals. At least that was my experience.

Here is how I see it: if Mormons were allowed to worship freely inside a country that valued freedom, much would have been different. In fact, Mormons were not allowed to be free in their worship and much occured because of it. The hostility from the protestants, as they worshipped on sunday, and burned Mormon property during the other days of the week, implanted a certainl culture into the LDS church. But much would have been different if the LDS church would have been left alone to worship freely. Battle fatigue does have its consequences.

In any case, I welcome honest, constructive, and critical feedback on the post--I was very surprised to find that most of the LDS readers liked my proposal. It's certainly an idea that I'd like to hone and tease out more, though I'm going to be pretty busy until Wednesday at least and have little time for discussion right now.

Do you? You have a fetish for Mormonism or is it an obsession? Or is it both? I could compare it to me, if I had a blog and would constantly lecture protestants on their history and doctrine, calling for them to change over and over again. How would I describe myself? It is not hard to be critical of any faith and make a career out of it as a blogger.

Ah...the old 'avoid answering the question' routine. I don't blame you.

So, on the basis of what you wrote do you think it is wrong for America to have incarcerated Warren Jeffs? You must do because you think Religion should be free to practice whatever belief system they see fit.

Oh well, here are the same old same old comparisons. Should I expect more? The protestants were hanging blacks. See the point? I see no grace among them back in the day.

Stop avoiding the question.
If you think the Mormons of old can be excused of their actions because people persecuted them over their religious beliefs then to be consistent you should excuse Warren Jeffs. What is the difference?

You are a liar, and not a particularly good one. If I were against the LDS church, I would want it to do exactly what it is doing right now in regards to its history. Few paths could be more self-destructive or disastrous.

Anyways, I'm done responding to your anti-Protestant, anti-me drivel. Protestants piss you off. I piss you off. You're unable to see straight past either of those points. You are a bitter, petty, small-minded man, and I truly feel sorry for you.

And I feel sorry for this forum--having to watch every thread on something related to me, even something in which I say absolutely nothing about Protestantism, turned into one of your screeds on how much you hate Protestants. Even after months of little posting activity from me. It's just pathetic.

To the Rest ~ Now that this thread has been "why me'd," I'll start a thread in Celestial asking for feedback on my post when I actually have some time to discuss it. I'm checking out of this one.
