Approximately 32.

Members who left due directly to my influence: 17

Members who left due to influence of the above 17: 12

I am not sure how many have left due to the above 12. Rest assured that there are numbers there. Truth has that affect.

I have three people that I feel I influenced them to no join.

32 x average $5,000/year tithes = 160,000/year

$160,000/year back into the pockets of hardworking people and the local economy, not LDS Inc malls and properties.

Are you being sarcastic, Stem?

I've never intentionally tried to get anyone to disbelieve the church. What other people believe is none of my business. I have tried to do two things:

1. Stand up for truth and correct error, no matter who does it. If a critic of the church says something that is not true, I will stand up for what is true. If an apologist does that, I will do the same. I've been criticized for sticking up for the church, but I believe in truth, not in "winning."

2. I have tried to help people who have already decided that Mormonism isn't true to navigate a painful process while causing the least amount of damage to their relationships.

Rambo, you are only the third person who has ever said I had a part in your exit. The other two were brothers in California who had determined the church wasn't true, and my blog helped them realize they weren't alone.

I'm glad the influence I had was that of being a decent person. That's what matters to me.

That's not very nice. Would you appreciate if someone was sarcastic to a missionary who talked about the people he helped convert?

The only person related to Mormonism who had a hand in my disbelief is Tarski. His cool-headed logic and deep scientific knowledge are unassailable.

While a member of the Cult of Mormonism, I never got anyone to join. No matter how hard I prayed, no matter how much I testified. I could never understand how they just wouldn't see how marvelous Mormonism was.

I can't even begin to know how many I've helped get out and move on from the Cult of Mormonism. There was a time where I felt that was important, but no longer. Each person that makes a journey out of the Cult is important.

Well it's a few hundred by now based on the emails I get. It's not something I'm necessarily proud of. I'd just as soon have the people stay in the church and help reform it for the better from within but people are free to do whatever they want with the information we provide - and most seem to leave it eventually.

Edited to add: And maybe 20 people have told me that they actually stayed in because of the things they read at MormonThink

Exactly right. If the truth leads people away from the church, that probably means the church is not true. Providing information--true information--is something to be proud of. What other people do with it isn't your responsibility.
