Though a generation has come of age since the Iron Curtain parted in 1989 in Hungary, reminders of the soviet regime are relatively easy to find. It wasn’t so long ago that Budapest was ruled with an iron fist by the Soviets. I wanted to learn more about this chapter in their recent past so I took a “Soviet” tour of the city. It began in something called Szobor (Statue) Park on the edges of the city. This purposely barren-looking bleak park was created as a ‘final resting place’ for the huge ominous communist-era statues that had dotted the city-scape from the end of WWII to the early 1990s. Some of the statues had been mostly destroyed by the people during the final days of communism—and as if meant to be …all that’s left of Lenin are a pair of huge boots. I guess they were made for walking…so to speak.
(The boots are of Stalin... don't care!)

The Loch Ness Monster was a challenge to the zoological vagaries of the day. It shattered many a false theory taught throughout the centuries. Yet it was plain and simple to the human understanding. There was no mysticism about it. Numerous people saw, in full light, a plesiosaur living in a lake in Scotland. The vision was beyond philosophic quibbling.

There are three specific challenges that the Loch Ness Monster answers. The first is that of plesiosaurs being extinct. The second is that of the present understanding of zoology. The third is that of eyewitness accounts being reliable. All three of these challenges came as a result of the Loch Ness Monster and not because of it. Tourists at Loch Ness had only one true desire – to know of all the zoological theories – to know which is true or if they were all wrong together.

Laying aside Dr. Mustache Ride's premise that Joseph Smith just told one First Vision story that involved consistent dates, motives, and events, let us ponder this sentence:

"All three of these challenges came as a result of the First Vision and not because of it."

As a result.....not because of......as a result......not because of........

You get a real Zen thing going if you think about it for very long.

You know, I have wondered before on the board what the implications of Rule 34 are to Mormonism.

Given his classy flair for erotica and his conviction of the Restored Gospel, I think SeattleGhostWriter is the perfect candidate to fill this noticeable gap in the Bloggernacle. Finally, the slash fic of the Restoration that so many have been waiting for.

However, any Mormon-themed erotica will come as a result of Rule 34, not because of it........

What do you make of the young Dakota, Darth? At a mere 20 with not even a year within the Church seems to be a bit young to be doing apologetics.

Apologists can't seem to grasp the simple concept that you cannot use Mormonism's own claims as proof of Mormonism.
