Hello Scratch!

I absolutely love, adore and sincerely appreciate your remarkable gift to write.

Among the many things I value and enjoy about the MDB, your writing contributions are - and can be - found.

Well done, Scratch!
Very well done!

Merry Christmas!

Peace,

I'd like to offer an entry into the honorable mention list, the first foray of the LDS church into official apologetics. The first salvo is here:

http://www.LDS.org/topics/first-vision- ... s?lang=eng

I think this is where Mopologetic action will be in the coming years. While apologetic, and not Mopologetic (Mopologetic above all being characterized by nastiness), it does glean from Mopologetics of years past. Indeed, I imagine that this movement will continue to recycle Mopologetics (unattibuted, of course) in a more PR-friendly form for years to come.

Excellent list (the guy who played Alf's surrogate dad was the most annoying person to ever grace a sitcom this side of Fran Dresher, was he not?). I would switch 1 and 2 on the list, and I think the Hans Mattson story should have been Top Ten, but these are quibbles. Thanks for compiling this each year. It was a holiday treat as always.

Thanks to the magic of the internet, the Alf Christmas Special is available in its entirety for your viewing pleasure:

I promise you will all shed some tears, and these tears will not be tears of joy.

I was rather impressed with Bill Hamblins admission, that for what seems his entire BYU career, he was not following the directive of his superiors.

Also, in Septenber 2013, Daniel Peterson start a thread on MDDB, to defend his actions of asking a friend to access the leadership records.

Thank you for this! Does anyone have a link to 2012s? As a newish nonbeliever, I'd love to learn about what went down last year.

That's a fun read as always. But I'm surprised the Swedish Rescue (and NY Times Article) didn't make the list; that was pretty huge in my memory.

Far they flew to me, pa rum pum pum pum
Jensen and Turley, pa rum pum pum pum
They came to rescue me, pa rum pum pum pum
From my apostasy, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

So to listen, pa rum pum pum pum,
I showed up.

Brother Turley, pa rum pum pum pum
Can you explain to me, pa rum pum pum pum
Joseph's polygamy, pa rum pum pum pum
Helen was just 14, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

What is up with this? pa rum pum pum pum,
It seems wrong

Turley answered, pa rum pum pum pum
Said it was complicated, pa rum pum pum pum
Said it was normal then, pa rum pum pum pum
Said let's move on my friends, pa rum pum pum pum,
rum pum pum pum, rum pum pum pum,

But his answer, pa rum pum pum pum
Did not help.

If these parodies are distracting from the thread, I can delete them or give them their own thread. I just thought in the spirit of the recapping the year in Mopolegetics that some Christmas song parodies would be fun.
