It's a nice thought from a certain perspective.

But I think the America is the Titanic, and Drumpf was the iceberg.

Indeed. And it somehow snuck up on us while being wide out in the open.

You know, an iceberg is a pretty good metaphor for Obama. It's cold, unforgiving, unthinking, and that oddly angled portion you see sticking up is hiding the majority of its massive ugly self below the surface.

Oh yeah, and it's painfully black.

unlikely. Not uncommon to have changing communications directors. Obama had 5 of them, with his first only lasting about 90 days.

What makes you think/believe that this change would be indicative of a sinking ship?

This is your idea of pretending?

Well, you suck at pretending.

5 over 8 years vs. 5 (6, once Hicks is replaced) in less than 14 months.

To run with the metaphor du jour: so what if some 2,200 people disembarked the Titanic on April 15, 1912. People get off passenger liners all the time.

So? having multiple over one's presidency is the point....you imposing an artificial critical mass is a luxury I can take as well...5 over 8 years is different than 1 over 8 years...and geez every President prior to 1969 had 0 over all years. If you are going to post values based on arbitrary quantities then at least justify them...for example, you ask for us to comapre 5 over 8 VS 6 over 1.16...ok...now what?...I argue that changing communications directors more often is better than changing them less often...so Obama failed by creating stagnation at that position...8 over 8 would have been the preferred quantity for those years, why? because arbitrary.

So much straw. But yeah i get it...however, to continue your logic...compare 2,200 people versus 6....and also note that people weren't getting back on the Titanic...people are getting back on board the Trump administration. But yeah i see your point...you guys are basing your conclusions off of metaphors and similes that echo your narrative and therefore must be true and accurate. So, let us keep the nautical theme going, maybe instead of getting onto a life raft Hope was walking the plank?...see? that way you can still hold fast to Trump being a Pirate or mutineer or perhaps just a rogue seafarer....ship ain't sinking either way muchacho.

One of the problems of being a communications director for Trump is that you have to begin every sentence with 'I think what the President meant to say was...'

Are you actually making the argument that having 5 communications directors in 1 year is part of a rational management plan?

Hope's departure was preceded by the departure of her oldest friend, Josh Raffel, the fervent defender of both Kushner and Ivanka. How thin is the talent pool at the White House? Kellyanne Conway is running the Opioid Crisis Response team.

Donald Trump is a man who insists upon personal loyalty. He has very few close friends. He has a chief of staff who is trying hard to control access. Jared, Ivanka and Hope were the biggest, most solid part of the President's support structure. That support structure is crumbling within the White House, which will leave Trump isolated and more alone. That is a worrisome thought.
