How'd your surgery go?
Great. Cataract surgery can really brighten up the day and evenings! Just need to remember my three different eyedrops four times a day.
I'm glad and encouraged that your cataract surgery went well for you. I'm probably going need it myself before very long. The cataract I have in my left eye is becoming increasingly annoying -- and that is my stronger eye that needs less optical correction. I especially notice it when I am trying to read or look at something close up. My right eye is much more nearsighted, but it is otherwise still clear. I don't really need my glasses to read. In fact, when I want to examine something tiny really close up, I take off my glasses and hold it up close to my right eye. It is almost like using a microscope.

I have a question about the eye drops. Are they only temporary until your eyes fully heal, or will you have to use them the rest of your life?

Thanks, I'm relieved to learn that!

I went to get a haircut at a shop last month and felt safe there. Masks are required in the shop.
My shop also requires masks. It's just a small shop in my small town that I like to go to. I really feel like most places (hair shops or not) are going the extra mile to keep clients/patrons safe. I'm happy you had a good experience, Bracki!

I’ve been growing mine out. I went for a haircut with someone who had told me to grow it out for four months and then she’d give me a new cut. I went and got it cut. I think it needs more shaping up however. So, I suppose I’m just growing it even longer until I find the right person to cut it. I need someone who is good at cutting curly hair. Also, I went off of a medication that affects the hair. So, I want to see what It looks like in ~3 more months when the effects of the drug have worn off. Just call me Rapunzel. When I do get a good haircut, it’s gonna feel sooo good!

I had a neighbor give me a haircut today. Even trimmed my eyebrows a bit, so I feel a bit less like Professor Tolkien.

Hi Jersey Girl,

I went back to that haircut shop a few days ago to get my haircut again. This time, they took my temperature and had me sign a paper.

Oh that is interesting! I made an appointment for the 25th to get my hair cut off (and I mean OFF) so I will see what their process is. I know they require masks. Not sure about the temp taking. I do know it takes my hair dresser less than 15 minutes to do a full hair cut on me so I am sure I won't be in there long. I think this time she'll start by putting my now-long hair in a pony tail, cut that off first, then do the cut which shouldn't take any extra time.

They have a system where I can ask questions like a patient portal. I've asked if they're spacing out appointments to have less clients in the shop. Haven't heard back about that yet. You can also make your appointments with the system. It's really slick!

I don't really have any concerns for safety. There are NO outbreaks in hair salons in this area, it's a small privately owned shop and I am sure the owner is following the additional guidelines because she wants to stay open especially after being locked down when she was trying to sell product online to generate a little business. I think that so long as the shop isn't crowded with people lingering around, it'll be just as safe as a doctor's office.

We'll see and thanks for your update!
