I think they are much more similar to regular old Christians than they'd like to admit. And when the rubber hits the road they think Heaven is just being in God's presence.
I agree with this. Mormons know its doctrine but I've never heard anyone talking about it beyond in the very abstract. There's far more lore about the spirit world, for instance.
However...when it comes to apologists, is there a secret fantasy life where they get to call the shots from the top down?

On a somewhat related note, I have a sibling who used to tease his wife that he couldn't wait to get his additional wives in the celestial kingdom, and he wasn't the first lds male I heard make that unfunny joke. And no, i never heard an lds female initiate the joke, but the wives of the lds men who did it seemed to feel they were obliged to murmur "ha-ha" when it came up. You know, eternal law and all.
I haven't heard the joke recently, but then I am not around Mormons that much any more. I don't miss that stuff at all.
That’s true that I have seen a ton of immature joking about polygamy in the afterlife. It’s such an awful thought I guess all you can do is joke instead of taking it seriously.

Given how horrific things have been in *this* life, can you imagine Midgley as a God? Seriously: what would it be like to pray to Heavenly Father knowing that your Father in Heaven is an exalted Midgley? Is this really the future that Mormonism is holding out for us?
I know a few grown women who would rather go to hell. Midgley remains unrepentant for the pain and suffering he's caused, which means his offenses and predilections absolutely will endure in the afterlife.
Can we devise a way to warn citizens of his future worlds? They'll be happier in their Telestial - easy peasy. Surely the multiverse offers a solution, however remote the odds. Cassius should dedicate some research to the challenge.
