I just logged onto this site using a Windows 10 PC. All the links I posted are working in the Microsoft Edge Browser. I'm not receiving any 404 errors.

Basically, the now-coined "M2C" theory was created in April 1917 by RLDS member L.E. Hills, and is the "Modernistic Theory" that President Joseph Fielding Smith warned against:

FAIR, of course, thinks that's garbage. (see above).

They prefer to be disciples of L. E. Hills, then of the Prophets of The Church - a point Johnathan Neville has been making over Oliver Cowdery's Letter VII and other early Church statements by Cowdery and Joseph Smith.

Sperry, after whom an annual Brigham Young University symposium is named, was also one who initially supported the New York Cumorah view (that is, an area of New York as the final battlefield of the Nephites and Jaredites). During the 1960s, as he began to explore the issue, he came to a different conclusion... Reversing his earlier position, he wrote: "It is now my very carefully studied and considered opinion that the Hill Cumorah to which Mormon and his people gathered was somewhere in Middle America. The Book of Mormon evidence to this effect is irresistible and conclusive to one who will approach it with an open mind. This evidence has been reviewed by a few generations of bright students in graduate classes who have been given the challenge to break it down if they can. To date none has ever been able to do so."  Sperry, who was very familiar with what Joseph Fielding Smith had previously written, told him that he did not feel comfortable publishing something that contradicted what the apostle had written, but that he and other sincere students of the Book of Mormon had come to that conclusion only after serious and careful study of the text. Smith seems to have missed a golden opportunity to say to Sperry,

"You are an apostate, and using unscientific means and unscholarly, amateur idiotic reasoning. You are endangering the minds of the church with such dubious trash, and I feel it my duty to say how imbecile your idea is, and hardly represents the majority of church members. How can you possibly expect me to believe you are actually engaging the grey stuff in your pointy little noggin when you arrive at juvenile and illogical conclusions based upon amateur archaeology and virtually no real scriptural support? You heinously misuse the Book of Mormon and it will go down in history as the most disgusting and off the wall theories in the vain imagining of your own warped mind Sydney."

I mean... after all, Mike Parker would talk that way to anyone who disagreed with his own view of the Book of Mormon location of the Hill Cumorah. This far too gentlemanly and brotherly response of Elder Smith just doesn't cut it for today's defender's of the faith.

Well, Apostles are kind people. Peter Pan, and his Skippy and Jiffy counterparts, not so much.

I believe early members of both churches thought of a hemispheric model for The Book of Mormon.

But Joseph Smith never taught that. Jonathan Neville pointed out that the Wentworth Letter was based off of an earlier publication by Sidney Rigdon (?) who included Central America. Joseph Smith removed that and said the remnants are the Indians in this country. It may be on one of his blogs. He made a side by side comparison.

I think today it’s obvious that the Maya Civilization, which existed before, during and after The Book of Mormon timeline, was a completely different civilization than that described in The Book of Mormon. Similar to Egypt and Israel on the old continent.

The Lamanites of course hemmed in the Nephites northward. The period of Captain Moroni states they were surrounded on the east, west and on the south. Some of the Lamanites could have during or after the Book of Mormon time period, gone south and intermingled with the Maya and other civilizations southward, making them descendants of Lehi today.

But to restrict them to a small area in Tehuantepec, for 1000 years, makes no sense (as well as the Jaredites).

But in the 1840-1920s most members, I assume, thought any ancient american civilization was related to The Book of Mormon. Some of the RLDS had a belief of Quetzalcoatl being Christ.

Louis Edward Hills, by profession, was a railroad conductor, an honorable profession then of a major industry. His obituary stated he received a gold pin for 30 years of service. (Typical of corporations today, if they last 30 years.) But didn’t mention the name of the railroad.

Malwarebytes says "Nothing to block", and I turned off my browser's native protection - still get 404s. However, don't worry on my account. If others can see the material then it's fine with me.

If this is all laid out in the Interpreter Journal style book, then why this past week or so, at Sic Et Non, did DCP deny knowledge of L.E. Hills?

I have more information about the entire RLDS history surrounding L.E. Hills.

But as more proof of the Welch/RLDS connection, on BookofMormonCentral visit “Donor FAQ”
Under the accordion folder: “ What is the relationship between BMC and BYU? BMC and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?”
Notice the statement: “Some of our volunteers are members of Community of Christ or Restoration Branch congregations.”
