It seems Jeff lacks the faith to not be healed…
Premise 1. Eyewitness testimony is notoriously unreliable.
Premise 2. The best evidence for the Book of Mormon is eyewitness testimony.
Conclusion. Therefore, the best evidence for the Book of Mormon is notoriously unreliable.

I've got to expect that, even for someone who truly believes in heaven and being together forever, that having your spouse of 60 years die must be heartbreaking. Even though I don't agree with Holland on many matters, I do wish him solace and comfort in this difficult time.

What matters do you disagree with Holland on?

Seconded. I want to see what a believer means when they say that.

Third. I too would like to see some discussion here from the advocate.

Disagreeing with the brethren is the unpardonable sin of Mormonism.

Didn't expect this question. Here are a few things from recent years that come to mind:
  • Musket fire talk was inappropriate: use of "musket fire" analogy not appropriate nor was attacking Matt Easton for his preapproved talk;
  • That the church was creating double-digit new stakes every week in 2016;
  • Prediction (prophecy?) of 100,000 missionaries;
  • Stating that people leaving the church must crawl over or under the Book of Mormon, without any attempt to address common issues people see in Book of Mormon; and
  • His style of advocacy, which tends to rely more on emotional arguments and bluster rather than logic.
To be clear, I disagree with a lot of people on a lot of things. Just because someone is in a position of authority or power, doesn't mean that I automatically agree with what they say. I listen, ponder, and decide for myself whether it resonates with me. Elder Holland's talks generally don't resonate with me.

I disagree with you on this. :D

Disagreeing with the brethren is generally not an issue in the church. It's vocalizing the disagreement that they don't like. Emperors don't like people pointing out that they have no clothes.

Agreed. Although the church seems to have discovered that excommunicating people is not the solution to that problem and only makes them look worse.
