Moksha's posts often come out of left field, and that means that some of us don't always get them. I don't consider that a problem, though. The tilted perspective is well worth having. A lot of the things that we discuss here are, after all, pretty absurd. A lot of the things we discuss are also supposed by some people to be pretty serious. Letting everyone decide for themselves which is which is one of the actually important things that we do here. Signalling that the line between serious and absurd is kind of fuzzy here, that's a genuine service.

And to be clear, most of the time I do get the jokes, or at least I think that I do. For me at least, Moksha is a comic who is working the edge, and so sometimes goes over it. It's not a matter of regularly making no sense—not for me, anyway.

Self-indulgently long incomprehensible posts are annoying, but Moksha doesn't do that. Even the few that I do not get at all are just brief interjections. Nobody ought to mind those.

I wouldn't say that I'm a free speech absolutist, but I am firmly in the camp of people that do no harm with their speech and are brief.

I have been asked and others have also pointed out to me the very newest apologetic attempts of Stephen Smoot to defend Joseph Smith's Book of Abraham and the papyri. I am going to do a detailed response with the evidence showing the attempt has yet again, failed. Come and join me for my special Saturday Night Live.

This is a great honor coming from you and I'd be ungrateful for not saying so. Now I know you have comprehended the celestial thread and have absorbed the content. It is without question the most powerful refutation against the Book of Abraham and leaves the apologists utterly speechless and unsure about how to proceed with their own arguments. I sense there is a general sense of division and confusion among the apologists. They are bewildered and not sure how to proceed. Their camp is in disarray and I've utterly destroyed the Book of Abraham and there is nothing they can do to salvage it.

Wipe them out, Kerry. You are in the limelight and are welcome to carry the torch in my honor. Take up the mic and get the glory! I work in the shadows and type away and reveal what I know for your benefit and that's good enough for me. I can only imagine how unfilled and miserable John Gee must feel at this time knowing he's lost everything and how his dream to vindicate the Book of Abraham following Nibley's demise has proven an utter failure.

And now we have Smoot. My God. He sounds like TV commercials and utter BS. But I have to think that he will come around and realize that what he is doing is utterly wrong and unethical. He has to be better than his predecessors, I hope.
