Do you MAGA supporters care at all about how many residents of many countries that have traditionally been America's staunchest allies and friends are now afraid to come here because of Trump's policies and xenophobic paranoia and even insisting on examining the contents of visitors' personal cell phones and other electronic devices for possible content critical of American policies?

American Reacts to 7 Countries Turning Their Backs on the USA

There have been numerous cases of people having been denied entry by U.S. Customs or even detained (in effect imprisoned) for days, merely for having content on their devices expressing opinions or criticism about Trump or U.S. policies that offend Trump.

1. Canada from which 25% of foreign tourists used to come: 900,000 fewer visitors from Canada from the same month a year ago. 70% fewer airline bookings from Canada.

2. France: 20% drop in tourism from France.

3. Germany: 29% drop. Some High-Profile Germain tourists with no criminal record turned away with no explanation.

4. UK: Noticeable drop in demand due to concern about how British tourist are treated. Example, one young British tourist because of a minor visa misunderstanding detained for 19 days, subjected to leg irons, waist chains and handcuffs before being sent back to UK.

‘Traumatic’: British tourist sent home from US in chains after visa error

Travellers to the United States are being warned to double-check their visas after a British tourist was unceremoniously deported from the country.

Rebecca Burke, a 28-year-old graphic artist from Monmouthshire, endured a 19-day detention in a US facility.

Ms Burke was detained by US immigration officials despite believing she had followed all the correct procedures for her entry requirements.

She was released back to the UK on Tuesday, having been led on to the plane in chains “like Hannibal Lecter”.

She returned to a crowd of friends and family at the airport.

5. Australia: 7% drop in tourist arrivals due to concern with safety and mistreatment by U.S. Customs officials.

6. Spain: 24.5% drop in Arrivals from Spain.

7. Denmark: 34.5% Drop in arrivals. Growing movement to boycott travel to U.S. and purchase of American products. Some Danes are cutting out enjoying marzipan, a favorite candy treat, because 95% of the almonds used to make it are grown in the U.S., specifically California.

This is costing a loss of billions of dollars in revenue for the U.S. tourist industry alone, not to mention billions of dollars of lost revenue due to boycott of American manufactured products and agricultural products by many nations formerly friendly to and supportive of America. There can be no reasonable doubt that Trump and his policies are going to cost our country an awful lot more than our national economy can possibly gain from his idiocy! But Trump doesn't care about that. He will simply lie about any adverse results and fire anyone he can who honestly reports about them.

UPDATE 8/4 10:20 PM: The DHS removed language explicitly blocking federal disaster relief funding to states allowing boycotts of Israel in its FY2025 standard terms and conditions document, but clarified on X that it could still deny funding on these grounds.

The Trump administration announced today that American states and cities boycotting Israeli companies will not receive natural disaster funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

To be eligible for $1.9 billion available in federal grants from FEMA for disaster preparation essentials, including emergency management salaries and rescue gear, U.S. states and cities must agree that they will not cut off “commercial relations specifically with Israeli companies.”

In essence, signing a loyalty oath to another country.

“DHS will enforce all anti-discrimination laws and policies, including as it relates to the BDS movement, which is expressly grounded in antisemitism,” a spokesperson for Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said.

Back in April, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), which oversees FEMA, announced that states and cities receiving its funding cannot boycott Israel.

Today, 34 states have laws or policies against Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) already in place, making today’s development a largely symbolic one.

There are currently no states that actively “boycott” Israel, though a handful of cities have moved toward passing laws cutting off business with Israel or companies that do business with Israel over humanitarian concerns. For example, Portland, Maine voted in September 2024 to divest from companies doing business with Israel, citing the humanitarian crisis Israel has caused in the Gaza Strip. And the city of New Orleans passed, but rescinded soon after, similar legislation back in January 2018, years before the current war.

Observers contend today’s move by the White House, which makes critical disaster relief (paid for by American taxpayers) contingent on Israel support, showcases the extent to which the Trump administration backs Israel amid its longstanding war on the Gaza Strip, which has killed more than 60,000 people and created famine-like conditions there.

"Tying disaster assistance to a state or city's stance on Israel demonstrates that the Trump administration has abandoned ‘America First’ in favor of ‘Israel First,’” Quincy Institute Middle East Program Research Fellow Annelle Sheline told Relief Society. “Yet it also highlights the desperation of the pro-Israel lobby: if American communities have to be forced to support Israel, such support is not viable for the long-term."

Josh Paul, the co-founder and Director of Washington-based think tank A New Policy, similarly told Relief Society the move places Israel over Americans' well-being.

“When the next flood, or fire, or earthquake hits, the U.S. government will have to explain to Americans whose homes and lives have been devastated by disaster that the funding was not available to avert the catastrophe because the Trump Administration placed Israel's economic interests above the well-being of American citizens,” Paul said.

The move to block federal disaster preparation funding from states and cities divesting from Israel comes amid growing international outrage over the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip, and recently announced intentions by Western countries, including the UK, France and Canada, to recognize the state of Palestine.

Trump said last week at a meeting with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer that he did not mind if Starmer supported Palestinian statehood, but that he would not take a stance on that issue himself. However, Trump did say Canada moving to recognize Palestinian statehood could make a trade agreement between the two countries “very hard” to reach Thursday.

Incontrovertibly true! And there is no way that Trump and his staff can credibly deny it! But none of this matters to Trump or his sycophantic staff. As Chap, so excellently and eloquently stated it:

The fact is that Trump simply does not recognise the distinction between truth and non-truth. That distinction is meaningless to him. What he does recognise is the distinction between assertions that help him toward his goal of unlimited power and wealth, and those assertions not helpful to him in that regard.
