Yeah, I realize it's an issue for Bob. I can't help but wonder why. Although, frankly, I now have strong suspicions why.

If bob is correct, and scratch is a woman, perhaps bob thinks scratch was attempting to imbue his/her statements with undue "authority" by acting as a male. And now bob has exposed the poser! And will put her in her place!

Really, bob, there is no good way to spin this. Good luck trying.
