So you are privy to behind the scenes information (of course..) – then you must be aware then of current Jewish resentments on the topic and you make the statement two posts up: “ The Church has worked with the Jewish community on this matter in good faith.” Which is clearly misleading !! Actually, from what I know of the case, I think it precisely accurate.

Its not accurate as you sought to portray the LDS church as working with Jewish groups when the reality is they are upset with Church inactions. And you knew it.

Promises Unfulfilled:
In a 1995 agreement, the Church agreed to limit their posthumous baptism practice of Jews — of all Jews, not just Holocaust victims — to only direct ancestors of Mormons. Instead of implementing promises made, the Church has engaged in a course of unfulfilled promises, a record of decisions adopted and then abandoned, and an apparent wish to undo what they have agreed to.

We urge the Church to:
Comply with the 1995 agreement.
Cease the ongoing wrongful baptisms of the Jewish dead.

Constitute a task force to search and expunge from all baptismal records, all wrongful baptisms of the Jewish dead.


If you feel a special connection to those who have gone before you and an increased responsibility to those who will follow, you will insist on removal of their names from the baptismal lists.
