Not really. The Mueller report is factual.

If you had said, "The Mueller report is like the US Constitution" for this reason, then I'd have completely agreed.

From the Wall Street Journal today:

Funds for Military Pensions, Afghan Security Forces Among Those Being Diverted for Border Wall

The $6.1 billion in Defense Department funds that will be diverted to expand the barrier at the Mexican border will be taken out of programs ranging from funding of Afghan security forces to a retirement program for the U.S. military, as well as construction projects for military bases around the world, Pentagon officials said this week. ...

Under President Trump’s emergency proclamation in February, the White House ordered the transfer of $3.6 billion in military construction money and $2.5 billion in defense counterdrug funding to help build the border wall. Military construction funds go for bases, buildings and troop housing, while counterdrug funds are for narcotics interdiction efforts abroad.

You know I don't get to the board much anymore. I get down to the political discussions even less. But I can't help being struck at how exactly aligned the liberal posters are with every issue and how exactly aligned the conservative posters are with every issue. Sam Harris years back made quality observation about that kind of thinking alignment. It can't be critical thinking ruling on either side that's just too convenient. Rather, it's tribal. And that is bad for our country. I think any rational person could give either side pretty damning criticisms.

When you say liberal posters and conservative posters do just have a few people in mind or are you lumping most to all in either category? For me I only see a handful of far right or far left posters with the rest somewhere in the middle. Take the border wall. The far right is in total favor of it but moderate conservative and liberals tend to view it as wasted money that could be better spent on effective border controls and immigration problems. I don't even see most of the far left opposition being about open borders and let everyone in.

I can absolutely damned guarantee you that some of us Democrats don't want anything to do with some of the Leftists on this board and across all of the various Internet platforms. They're are waaaaaay out in Left field, and their nonsense will probably ensure Trump's re-election. You just don't see us much because why bother? The partisans are mentally ill and dominate any and all conversations with their pathos.

Hi Doc,

You are much better situated to make the assessment and I of course haven't immersed myself in the various threads. I guess I expected more from such intellectual posters than - Trump evil/Trump god - and racist being confused with substantive discourse.

mikwut, I think your assessment is pretty reasonable. We're polarized and mostly echo the news sources driving liberal/conservative polarization.

Hi honor,

Thanks. That's unfortunate. The Mueller report has fascinating twists and turns of the law that make for great conversation. Many frankly, new and unanswered including ethical principles that just haven't been fully developed given new technology and the present landscape. How and why we are so polarized is also a fascinating question. The press and the wwf style of presentation it has morphed into of villian/hero entertainment is fascinating. I could go on, but partisan talking points other than how they develop, by themselves, pretty intellectually unsatisfying in the current environment.

Trump being evil is somewhat accurate. It's something most liberals would not attach to most of the other past republican president's. Maybe this increased polarization it was has allowed someone as bad as Trump to get elected as president. Hell you have a number of well established republicans who take a similar view of Trump. You cannot find good examples from either side for other president's. This is also not a view that is contained in the US, but is well understood outside the US.

I agree that polarization is getting worse, but I noticed you avoided my question in regards to this site. I see many I would put in the middle, most of which may lean a little to the left with few moderate conservatives here. Most though tend to be more to the far right with few of those who identity as liberal being that far to the left.
