The polarity also moves over time, and north and south poles will disappear and reverse. These reversals have also been used to help date sea floors and using measurements of current continental drift match up fairly well for dating when continents began their separation from other continents.
The problem for literalists is that there are numerous methods of dating the earth and understanding past history, and they are all in agreement with each other. Even if there were some reason to doubt one of these methods (say the record of polarity shifts), you would still have to come up with a reasonable refutation of every other piece of evidence. That is a tough assignment, and in the end, a lot of people just throw up their hands and say that God can do whatever He wants and not leave any trace of what happened.
I was reading the other day the claim that the existence of complex jellyfish fossils is a significant challenge to "Darwinian fairytales." Are they kidding?

And then make up a bunch of stuff to make it look like the earth is old and that no flood occurred. Why would God deceive like that?

Just another thought to ponder.
Hoops what is the reference in the Bible that indicates this?
Ethiopian text of the Book of Enoch:
65.1 And in those days, Noah saw the Earth had tilted and that its destruction was near.
I wonder how Noah standing on the ground would know the "Earth" had tilted? I wonder what is meant by tilted? Is there only one interpretation? Is the term 'Earth" used the same today as then?

He was told by angels. Again, from the Book of Noah:
65.6 . . . For they have learnt all the secrets of the Angels . . . and all their secret power, and all the power of those who practice magic arts, and the power of enchantments, and the power of those who cast molten images for all the earth
67.2 And now the Angels are making a wooden structure, and when the Angels come out from that task, I will put my hand on it, and keep it safe. And a change shall take place, so that the dry ground may not remain empty.
Democrat' angels also made it possible to get the penguins on board.
Well, it's not the Bible, but it's old sorta kinda scripture.

This is from Exodus 2006, a "911 Truther" site, that interprets secret Bible codes. A couple of those codes claim that "The Beast is M. Romney" and "Mormonism: To me, religion of the Beast" (http://www.exodus2006.com/Fab2/Mormonism1.htm).
This is your credible, "sorta kinda scripture" source, MG?
edited to add: Tell me I missed something--and you're kidding.

Gotcha. Just playin' around.

That was mean.....
In a funny sort of way.
