No, I'm acknowledging I can't answer your question without looking even more stupid.

I hope my substantive post above shows that I am not one of those.
they do not.
Indeed, on the face of our posts I think I have demonstrated that I know the parts of the Bible we are discussing at least as well as you do
I disagree.
- and in one case better, in that you thought mistakenly that the killing of animals began after the Flood, not after the Fall.
I made a mistake, yes. Thank you for pointing that out to me

I also knew what Psalm you were referring to on the matter of mountains 'rising up', when you had forgotten.
I missed that. Do you have a post #?

I note that you make no response to my substantive, well documented and I think eirenic post, but respond instead to posts that you feel you can answer in one-liners of a dismissive nature.
Of course. I have little interest in giving you a platform for your snarkiness. I'm happy to discuss it with you, if that's what you wish. But you are more concerned with making rhetorical points, not a give and take. You and Buffalo are cut from the same cloth.
Are you really in this for serious discussion of the Bible, or just to sneer at unbelievers? If the latter, I think you should ask yourself whether you may not be placing stumbling-blocks by giving the impression that being an EV Christian implies being intolerant of dissent, uninterested in real discussion of relevant evidence, and uncharitable towards unbelievers. Just saying.
Your feigned indignation is laughable. And I am, indeed, lauging. When you bother to take the time to actually engage what I write then that might be some indication that you wish to discuss the matter. Until then, you're just another atheist/humanist/agnostic blowhard. I have litte patience for those.

Actually, yes, good for you. Science should be arrogant. It has an amazing track record of getting things right and improving the lives of people
Actually, science is in the business of getting things wrong. And from those, one draws conclusions on what is right. Really... you don't even know what you're defending.

Also, I don't really agree with the whole Jesus idea that humility
Obviously. Fortunate for you, Jesus never said such a thing.
Many of the people who have advanced the world
Of which you are not one.
From an atheist perspective, I don't see a good argument for humility, at least in all cases.
Who's making this argument? Once again, in typical atheist fashion, form your own argument then dash it on the rocks and claim a mythical victory.

Found it, Chap. No, that's not the one I'm talking about. I'll try today to find it.

Did you really write all that after reading my post?

See viewtopic.php?p=494473#p494473

Perhaps not, since you say:

My post deals specifically and at length with the Psalm in question.

If your post was made after reading mine, then I do not see how you can rationally suggest that I have not "[taken] the time to actually engage what [you] write".

But be as abusive as you like. It does not hurt or upset me, but I do not think it gives third parties a very good impression of the way EV Christians state their case.

I see that our posts have crossed. But am I right in thinking that your previous remarks were written after reading the entire post I made?

See viewtopic.php?p=494473#p494473

If so, I remain puzzled by your reaction.

I await clarification on which Psalm you do mean. I would be obliged if you would do me the courtesy of setting out in some detail how the text of that Psalm supports the point you wish to make, and why you are sure that your interpretation is the correct one.

Un.... believable.

Chap, your patience is both incredible and admirable. There is no way I could tolerate the idiotic comments Hoops has been making in this thread without calling him what he clearly is: an addled child. I'm actually starting to think he's putting us on; that's easier (and more comfortable) for me to believe than to imagine someone is really this stupid.

Just how much denial must one be in to think they're convincing anyone of anything when you argue like Hoops has in this thread?

I mean, seriously... it's mind-boggling. What's even more impressive is how indignant he gets towards others over what he considers subpar intellectualism. It's like Bugs Bunny mocking real people for being cartoon characters.

...

Note: I recognize I'm saying nothing in this post that anyone with at least a modicum of intelligence hasn't already thought for themselves. I've articulated it to get it out of my system more than anything else (something I seem to be doing a lot more these days). It just makes me fear for humanity in general when I read such idiocy.

If you talk a little louder, the big people might be able to hear you. Now get back on your booster seat and let the adults talk.

Well, even if I am

I am always ready to exercise patience in the hope that my posts will receive an adult response (though I have talked to quite a few bright and intellectually honest kids in my time, and to some very dumb and slithery adults too). But I do not demand that others should exercise patience on my behalf. On this board, comment is free.

Now Hoops, where is the reference to that Psalm that is (you say) not Psalm 104, but talks about mountains being thrust up about the time of the Flood in a way that means they could have provided a refuge for plants? Let's talk.
