Of course you are right to call it the 'Foes' feature - it is a little ridiculous of me to recommend a feature when calling it by a term that is not its real name, though that seems to be the board habit.

Yes people, it's easy! Click on 'User CP' at the top of the page, then on 'Friends and Foes' in the sidebar, select 'Manage foes', type in the poster's name, then you're done and they're gone! Thereafter, instead of seeing their posts you get an inconspicuous place holder instead! No more digestion-damaging irritation!!! No more time wasted typing rebuttals that can never alter the inexorable chatbot's Prime Directive to be creepy and judgmental!!!!)

(If after having cut off the problem at its source you are ever consumed with curiosity as to what it is that is annoying other posters, you can still click on the place-holder and see the offending post on a one-off basis. But I don't recommend it really.)

Since I typed this, I see that whyme has posted again - twice in a row! The choice is yours, people.

I've got 94 on my list.

Runtu wrote:Marvelous post. You are quite correct: there is no single path, and all of us must find the one that works for us and helps us find happiness and meaning. I'm glad you have found your way. Too many people never take the time to find out who they really are and what kind of life they want to live.

Just for the record, I think I need to say that I totally agree with you on this particular point.

The unexamined life is not worth living.

The only problem with this is that it presupposes only one path.

Unless I don't know Blixa, which is highly probable.

I don't use friend or foe. I would rather see all the dirt from one side or the other. Since it's just board chat, I don't take it too seriously. I find the latest posts from the "fringe" some of the most interesting reading.

It's kind of like "people watching". I roll my eyes when reading the latest form Derrick, ldsfaqs or subgenius, but it's fun to roll my eyes.
This, or any other post that I have made or will make in the future, is strictly my own opinion and consequently of little or no value.

why me wrote:I didn't buy her post. Too many loose ends for me. I have been upfront with my activity and with my involvement in church. I have told people and been at church and all know not to ask me to give talks and to not call me to positions. I make my comments in class without fear and at times I create a good discussion. I just expect people who judge the LDS church to be honest with who they are in church and at home.

You see why me, to the members in your ward you are just the whack-job who comes to church now and then. They give you fake smiles and pretend to listen to you. They sit and nod when you say something in class, but it is all in hope that it will pass quickly. Behind your back they warn each other about you and they probably send a member of the bishopric to attend the classes you go to. Sorry to point this out to you, but they aren't taking you seriously.
I'm the apostate your bishop warned you about.

Maybe this is so. But I still get comments about what I said and that is important. I know how some members may think of me. But I have never let that bother me. People can be silently judgemental no matter where we are. It happens. In the good ol days in the 70's I always took a socialist position with the gospel. In NYC at that time, it was like the wild west. Murders, porn, hookers, muggings, street art on subway trains, filth on the streets and poverty among many other social ills. It was important to get see the social aspects of the gospel during that time. And much discussion followed.

Perceptions never bothered me. But this is why I have a hard time with just me. She sat quietly and allowed it all to be said in class by people she disagreed with because it fit her new belief system about the LDS. I can not do that. There is a time to be silent but there is also a time to share understandings and perspectives.
I intend to lay a foundation that will revolutionize the whole world.

Oh how the world turns..... Runtu, you are clueless that your statement about us actually applies to you.
Makes me laugh that I used to believe the same self deceptive lie.

Runtu, the actual and WHOLE truth actually supports the basic Mormon narrative.
That's why the educated Mormon can stay Mormon, because anti-mormonism is who really cherry picks and rationalizes.

You falsely believe that YOU hold the whole and actual truth, when you actually do not.
You've only learned a little more than the average Mormon, just enough to actually be stupid easily swayed by the lie that is anti-mormon ideology (a mindset of looking at things on the surface rather than in depth), but not enough to actually know the truth.
