I think that Romney is a tax cheat.

Swiss and Cayman Island banking as a way to diminish your taxable footprint might be seen as a dodge by average Americans,

"Dodging" is not cheating, and numerous Americans, both Democrat and Republican, conservative and liberal, use those kinds of tax shelters to avoid America's punitive, suffocating tax regime. There's nothing immoral or illegal about it, and the money there doesn't belong to the state in any case.

Bow down...bow down to your god government, oh ye liberals. Please, worship at the church of synagogue of your choice (choose your program, bureaucracy, or administrative agency). But when the expected blessings turn to cursing, and the curtain finally comes down on your freedom, liberty, and unalienable rights, who will you cry to? God?

Remember, we were given a republic, "If you can keep it."

Excellent point Droopy. Once the money is outside the American borders, it is not subject to "America's punitive, suffocating tax regime". Mitt Romney was making a bold political statement as his own sovereign nation, by not letting himself be controlled under the "punitive, suffocating tax regime" of America.

If I was Mitt, I would appoint you to an advisory position in the New Reich Chancellory for this dispensation.

Well said. Droopy is a blight. When Daniel Peterson complained about the power of small-minded people on the internet, Droopy was the first person who came to my mind.

Given that it can never be obligatory to arrange one's financial affairs so as to pay the maximum tax, it does seem to follow that it is permissible to arrange one's affairs so as to pay the minimum tax within the law.

But it is also legitimate for citizens (on whom ultimately falls the responsibility for what the laws shall be) to ask whether they want to change laws that make it possible for very rich people to pay a much smaller percentage share of their gains in tax compared to the share paid by ordinary citizens who cannot afford the services of tax lawyers.

Anything wrong with that, Droopy?

Now that I know what kind of moral and spiritual cretin you are, I have no interest in earning credibility in your eyes. If anything I'd be worried if I had any credibility with you.

Anyone with a lick of sense would be worried about accruing Droopy cred.
