Probably so they don't crash into buildings.

Incidentally, I looked up the actual spec tables for a 767. Mach 0.86 is its maximum. At sea level, that’s 655 mph.

Operationally you’d have some really big problems (if you weren’t trying to crash it), but integrity-wise, you’d be well below thresholds.

Whoever said the steel framing had to be "melted" in order for the building to collapse? I mean this is just pure stupidity at work here. Here is a blacksmith demonstrating how heated steel loses more than 70% of its integrity at 1500 degrees. This is why the building didn't collapses immediately. It took some time for the fires to spread and heat the steel beams.

No one has been able to explain the logic in this. By blow up a building you know is already being attacked? In your idiotic scenario, for whatever inexplicable reason conspirators forgot the flip the switch to set off the explosives just as the planes hit. No, they were sleeping on the job we can only assume. Meanwhile, we're supposed to believe that a government that leaks information like a sieve is somehow able to guarantee the silence of the thousands of government officials who had to be behind such a massive campaign.

The other thing these guys blithely don’t address is the stress of the steelwork being impacted by a jetliner, in addition to the heat from burning material, and the stress of millions of pounds weight bearing down on a damaged and burning superstructure.

OK, let's start with the law of conservation of momentum... do you know what that is? Didn't think so. Please explain to all of us how 10 stories of a 110 story building can go completely through 100 floors as if there were no resistance below, while doing so at literally free fall speed, and while the pile driver was being incinerated itself upon initiation of the destruction??? This should be good. And while you're at it, please explain why the towers' destruction looked exactly like a pyroclastic flow from a volcano and how 10 stories of floor that was being incinerated can produce similar heat and energy???
