I can see some merit in that if the criminal is actually guilty and knows there is zero chance of ever being exonerated.canpakes wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:09 pmDo you see any merit in allowing someone given LWOP (In other words sentence is handed down) the ability to choose the death penalty instead?Jersey Girl wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:02 pmNO. A death penalty case is near impossible to win. It typically requires a unanimous decision on the part of the jury.

No precept or claim is more suspect or more likely to be false than one that can only be supported by invoking the claim of Divine authority for it--no matter who or what claims such authority.

But do you agree it should be possible to type the uncapitalized word "Trump" without auto-correct automatically capitalizing it?

I do, but you’d be disrespecting MAGA, and Pam Bondi may then be inclined to pay you a visit.
Other than that, only Shades can change that setting. Being so close to Christmas, you might offer up a fine fruitcake to help convince him.

I suppose Reiner may have said something about Trump that wasn’t accurate, but I’m not so sure that anyone has posted an example yet.Everybody Wang Chung wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:31 pmFor God's sake, Hooch! Why are you posting his fringe nonsense? We've seen you post enough of this deranged MAGA crap to last a lifetime. It's Christmas time, have some mercy on our souls.

You should contact the LA District Attorney and correct him on this point, since you apparently know more than he does about California criminal law.Whiskey wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:05 pmHang on. ETA: You got my attention with this thread to the point that I've taken you off ignore. Thanks a lot, buster.![]()
For a California case, there is no death penatly. I think that is off the table. I was responding generally and not to the Reiner case. That said, I think LWoP is a harsher penalty. And this neck-slicing POS needs the harshest of harsh.
You are welcome. Let the adventures continue.

Lol. What the “F” ever. California has a moratorium on applying the death part of the death penalty. Even better reason to ask for it over LWOP.Equality wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:47 pmYou should contact the LA District Attorney and correct him on this point, since you apparently know more than he does about California criminal law.Whiskey wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 10:05 pmHang on. The moratorium will only last as long as Newsom is around, though, right? Kristi Noem said she was going to remove him from office to liberate California. You don't think she'll keep it in place once she has sent Gavin to the gulag, do you?Whiskey wrote: ↑Wed Dec 17, 2025 11:11 pmLol. What the “F” ever. That's your conspiracy of the day? Didn't see that coming. I heard she is going to feed Newsom and a dog to a dog.
