Perfect! This is the image I was wanting most. Can you rotate it in different ways and then post them? I'd love to see them in one place from every angle!

Hash mark
There can be no doubt that this mark was set for a reason. It didn't get there by itself. The sketch artist put it there as a marker. It serves as a reminder to come back and deal with the problem -- the mark is a kind of question mark (?).

Make it look natural
Bear in mind, if those cuts were indeed made for the purpose of tearing out a section of papyrus, it would only be necessarily to make small cuts in the Mark of the Square whereby the rest could be torn about in rigid fashion. The purpose was simply to get it started and not let it look obvious. All you need is the first cuts and then you go from there. Make the rest look naturally torn so nobody would ever suspect a piece was cut out intentionally.

I just really appreciate the focus and work you put into this issue, Dr. Shulem. You’ve really helped me understand the scope and magnitude of the Church’s deception regarding the Book of Abraham.

Re: Shout Out to Shulem!
Hey Guys,
New here. Not sure if this is too much of a tangent for this fascinating topic; nor am I sure that it isn't already old news, but here goes:
I was reading the online version of the Book of Abraham on the church website around the time of the Robert Rittner interviews. Having been out of the church for so long, I didn't have a hard copy with me and was just trying to refresh my memory as to its contents. The online version was pretty much as I remembered with the facsimiles at the beginning of the Book of Abraham narrative. Then I noticed around the time of RFM's interview with Professor Bokovoy that on the church's website the facsimiles have been relocated to the end of the Book of Abraham - almost as if they are appendices to the Book of Abraham and not germane to the story. Also, the sacrifice scene at Abraham 1:15 has a link to a modern artist's rendition rather than the one in Facsimile !. I am posting the URL to the artist's rendition because I couldn't figure out how to copy and paste the image on this post.

At any rate, I am wondering if the church is moving the facsimiles to the end of the narrative as a preliminary move to just get rid of them altogether and go full-on catalyst theory so that they no longer have to deal with all the issues that you and a host of other scholars are raising on the forensic side of things.

Re: Shout Out to Shulem!
Gabriel,
Thank you for your contribution and feel free to make as many you like. Yes, the Church is moving the Facsimiles away from the narrative. It's long been a matter of speculation that the Facsimiles will eventually be removed from a future edition of the Pearl of Great Price. The days are numbers and they will be gone!
You are correct that the Church refers readers to a modern version of the Sacrifice Scene and NOT to Facsimile No. 1. This is manifest by:
1. CHAPTER 1
2. Scroll down to verse 15
3. Click on the photograph ICON located in the empty margin to the right of the verse
4. The image appears to the far right with the caption written below: An Angel Saves Abraham

Note that Abraham hardly looks a day over 30 and he looks like he was born and raised in Tulsa Oklahoma.
Also note that he doesn't have a beard. Hardly fitting for an Asiatic!
What a joke!
