And yes, the 'circle with central dot' (determinative for 'sun, light, time') and the circle with a diagonal cross (determinative for 'village, town' are entirely distinct from one another (that was a point of contention earlier, If I recall correctly).

Thank you for that! I agree.

It must have been hard on Ed to have that thrown in his face because those signs were used by him to support his opening statements to offer credibility to the whole of his paper and thus his paper crashed and burned before it even got started. Hey, he was misrepresenting Egyptology and misusing Egyptian signs in a very inappropriate and deceptive manner and I called him out for that. He couldn't take it. He threw a tantrum like the big fat baby he is.

Wrong. You believe that because I don't want anything more to do with this conversation because of your bad behavior, that somehow you can rewrite history and put this on me, but individuals that are actually honest and who actually have charity and care for the well being of their fellows can see what happened here. I'm ending this with my statement so that I won't let you get away again making it look like I was the bad guy here. I will have the record set straight here with this last post, whether you accept this or not, or whether the rest of you that support Shulem in his tirades accept it or not. You are not my friends, and you are not people that I care about or care what you think in the sense of whether you like me or not. The fact that you don't like me or accept me, or try to psychologically provoke me doesn't make me lose sleep. Some of you make a game out of trying to psychologically provoke people who you think are easy prey, because you engage in cyberbullying attempts. And that makes some of you extremely evil people. No if's and's or but's about it. And for the people that you have actually damaged this way, and done disservices to, the responsibility of those actions are on your head.

You decided that you were going to engage in contention and character assassination, regardless of your disagreement with a few exteremely minor points at the begining of my presentation, and that you were going to generalize by using those minor points. You could have decided to act differently, and your disagreement would have been noted, and we could have moved on. I was fine with your disagreement on minor points, but I called them quibbles because they were minor points in the paper. You are the one that couldn't take that I referred to your disagreement on my interpretations as quibbles, which they most certainly are, because they lack substance and importance, and just because I don't agree with your Egyptology interpretations in every single aspect, and that hurts your ego, so you go off on some tirade about it. Then I decided to back out and cease to engage with you, because you have never been a friend, even from the time of the early 2000's when you were a contentious person in our partnership in trying to vindicate the GAEL then. I want nothing to do with you anymore, and there is nothing productive here. There was nothing in my responses that wasn't reasonable except for my falling in to contention that you started, and that I only fell in to in a few posts. So why should I continue? You turn little tiny points that you disagree with in to big deals. You're the one that freaked out because of my use of the word quibble. There is nothing here that was initiated by me as far as contention goes. There is nothing here where you have given me the slightest reason to want to continue this. What person would after what you did to me, and have always done to me? I have tried to patch up the friendship over time a number of times, but now I have chosen for this to be the end.

And what reason, pray tell, for the rest of you that engage in cyberbulling attempts and psychological provocations to try to make people think that they are "increasingly irrational" because you are simply evil people, would make me want to have anything to do with you? Yes, sir, you are pure evil, and there is no good in you. Not one particle for your cyberbulling attempts. You are the kind of people that drive weak people to suicide, which I am not, and you revel in the possibility of causing real damage to others. Attempting to cause psychological damage to others is a game to you. God help you.

And for the rest of you that think that I'm the one that lost credibility here somehow, there is nothing here where I ever had credibility in your eyes anyway. That never changed. There is nothing here for me except that I occasionally give in to the temptation to post here and expect different results than the last times. Sorry, but there is nothing here for me, but Shulem getting hung up on little tiny points and then he goes off on tantrums, and then you tell me that somehow I am the one that lost credibility because of his tantrums and my lack of desire to want to engage with his tantrum, and then you act like it was me that had the tantrum. I had no tantrum here, only in one message losing my cool, and then making statements that I want no contact from some of you ever again. There was only one person that had a tantrum here, and that was Shulem.

I had no credibility here to begin with to lose. I lost nothing, and gained nothing, except reinforcement to overcome the temptation to ever come back.
That's one version. One very, very sad version with so much human pain it breaks my heart, Ed.

I hope you saw this other version.

You are not my friend.
Don't be so hasty. I have been there when you've had meltdowns on a couple of boards and I've felt sympathy each time. Shulem is happy to banter with you on just about any subject. Lem will give you good solid feedback. As message board friendships go that is a good start. Nobody has asked you to hit the road because you have had differing opinions. That has happened to me a number of times on religious message boards. We might not be sweethearts, but we certainly are not villains.

When you're weary
Feeling small
Then come to Mormon Discussions
And have a ball.
We'll hear your side.

It's too late for that.

You see, some of you people seem to think that cyberbulling is something small and harmless, but that is because some of you are truly evil people from a secular point of view displaying behavior that even the secular parts of our society have rejected as unacceptable to the highest degree. You are all lucky that I am a mature middle aged adult.

Ed,

I read your earlier post about the suicide bit and you threatening to come after "you people" to include Lem and Moksha and then you quickly deleted it. You threatened to come after those who you judge as damaging your children as a result of coming on this board and being hurt, somehow.

You're a very sick man, Ed. Very ill. You need to get a grip, dude.

For Christ sake. You are very troubled. Worse than me!

Lem & Moksha,

Ed can't be reasoned with. He's stewing in his own anger and totally unstable. I recommend not conversing with him because you're not going to get anywhere with him.

Just let him go and let's leave it at that.

Now, lest I am taken to task again for Egyptian Solar Iconography, for you people that seem to think that I haven't been doing this stuff as long as Shulem has, and you think I'm stupid, which a number of you do clearly, and Shulem is the only one that gets the credit for how long he has been doing Egyptology, I refer you to Egyptologist Luca Matello and the variants of Gardiner's sign list N5, the solar disk, with the small circle in the middle, which in some of its incarnations/variants has clear visual affinities for Gardiner's sign list AA1, the shaded disk, which at times is variously interpreted as sieve or placenta, as well as with the eye of Ra in the Hypocephalus round form which is in the form of an eye, as well as in the form of the solar disk in some of its incarnations:

As you can see, Joseph Smith's version of the solar disk, the shaded disk, is one of the options/forms.

And of course, The Egyptians are the one that placed the beetle on the god Khepri's face, notwithstanding Shulem's racist remarks:

Khepri, of course, is just another aspect of Ra anyway, and the vocalization for N5 is Ra, and stands for that god.

 I missed that. That's a horrible, horrible thing for him to say.

I think you're right. I've actually put some time into reading his work each time he has posted it here, and I've given my comments sincerely. But now he's (cyber)threatening me for it? You're right, time to let it go.
