Re: SMPT in Claremont in Less Than Two Weeks
Holy cow, I don't even know where to begin. I need to issue an apology though, this is certain. So, I hearby apologize to Doctor Scratch. I had no idea that by presenting at the SMPT, moderator edit by harmony: violation of Rule #3
Now then, to respond to some of the questions. This isn't an SCMC detaining and I will not be answering LoaP's carefully crafted interrogation list. Hey, have I begged anyone here to believe me? Absolutely not. I realized from the beginning there would be no way I could prove anything, and I'm ok with that. If you don't believe me, don't. I won't protest. As far as Liz goes, let me tell you, I've been in situations like this before. More than once, when I was a kid, I allowed some other kid to pressure me into, say, jumping my bike off a ramp. I could see the ramp wasn't stable, I might have protested, but then I was assured by ringleader kid and then all the other kids that it was safe. The end result being a scar or two. I've learned that it doesn't matter what other people think isn't harmful for me to undertake, it's all a show for them, what matters is what I think. I'm the one taking the risk.
Well, I wasn't planning on participating next year, but given all the excitement over this, maybe I'll make a phone call and reserve my time slot....?

Lou Midgley 08/20/2020: "...meat wad," and "cockroach" are pithy descriptions of human beings used by gemli? They were not fashioned by Professor Peterson.

The only mention of a chat room conversation is in your post, Gad. I'll edit it for you.

Read page 5 of the thread, Harm. Especially posts by LoaP and Jersey Girl.

Crap. Well, I may need a refill for my red pen.

But this is completely false. There is a way you can prove, at least to my satisfaction, that you really did present. You can do so by answering my very simple questions, which apply equally to virtually every presenter who participated at the conference, thus not threatening your hidden online persona.
So I will ask once more. If you really presented it would be simple to answer and not give yourself away at all. If you refuse, it will be plainly apparent to everyone here that you are maintaining your lie, or your joke, whichever you want to call it, despite not actually having presented. I'll even take it a step further, and only ask you to answer one question:
Was the title of your paper and your name printed on the actual SMPT conference program? (Since all presenters were listed on the program this will not give away your identity any more than you claim to have presented there.)
Thanks.
Harmony: The pm's I posted are my own, and I give full authorization to leave them up, thanks.

Gad--
If you are honestly saying that you presented at the SMPT Claremont conference, then that is good enough for me.
I was honestly confused. There were posters talking back and forth, stating that this was all some type of elaborate joke on your part. I was just trying to figure out if you were joking or serious.
It had seemed to me that you were serious about speaking, but then Kish and several others jumped on the bandwagon of this being some elaborate "Cassius University" ruse.
I just wanted to know if I was being duped or not. I suppose I'm rather naïve because I tend to accept people here at face value. You seemed genuinely excited about speaking at this conference, so when all of the hub bub started to arise that this was some elaborate joke, I just wanted to understand what was happening.

Gadianton didn't present in Claremont, Liz, and he can't "call and reserve a time slot" for next year, either. Nobody can. (I'm an officer of the organization, and I know what I'm talking about.)
The pointless charade continues. He's not to be taken seriously.

Daniel,
What are the pre-req's for presenters? What criteria must be met? Any?
