Bracki,
I think this is one of those things that sounds good on principle but won't fly in practice since Casey Anthony was declared indigent by the courts. The article suggests the possibility of a book deal, movie and paid interviews. To date, the only book deal that has been struck is on the part of former prosecuting attorney Jeff Ashton whose book is due out later this year.
Most of the major networks (I can't say "all") have banned paid interviews for folks like the Anthony's. In fact, Dr. Phil who recently taped an interview with George and Cindy Anthony did so without directly compensating the Anthony's, yet agreed to donate to a foundation they set up with regards to grandparents rights and missing children.
None of this prevents someone like Oprah from conducting an interview with Casey and compensating her for it. The problem I see with this is that Casey Anthony's attorney's have publicly stated that she is unstable/fragile and is in therapy for a variety of complex issues. If this is the case, she could not endure such an experience. If she were able to successfully participate in an interview, that would essentially make the public image her attorney's have created for her to be an outright lie.
How would such an interview be conducted? What interviewer worth their salt would not attempt to pin her down with regards to the actual circumstances of Caylee's death? How could Casey possibly respond to those questions? For those reasons and a multitude of other reasons, I don't see the possiblity of a successful interview.
With regards to a book deal. I can't imagine firstly, this actually becoming reality. It would be akin to the OJ book "If I did it" and the civil suit that followed. What is Casey going to write about? An expose of her family and if she did, who would believe her? Her reputation is that of a pathological liar. I doubt that the American public would be willing to put money into Casey's pocket and not only that, I think that if she were to spin a book that includes the allegations of sexual abuse she leveled at her father, George Anthony would rise up and sue the ever loving crap out of her in a civil suit--and win.
I do definitely think that a movie will eventually be made, however, I can't imagine Casey being a part of it or directly profiting from it.
The question in the minds of the public has never been answered and I think, will never be answered and that is, "How did Caylee Anthony die?"
Casey, through her attorney's, made a half assed attempt to answer that question, providing no evidence (they weren't required to) for their assertions that Caylee drowned in the family pool and George helped cover it up. They further attempted to float the unsubstantiated theory that George sexually abused Casey beginning at age 8.
At this point, I see no possible way for any book or interview to "fly" with the public and even if it were possible, the fact that her attorney's have publicly stated she is unstable/fragile, will need long term therapy and regardless of whether or not that is a total sham, either Casey will need many months to participate in therapy or take many months to make it
appear as if she is invested in the process, and the momentum that generates public interest in the case will have been lost in the process.
Based on what I've read online (yes, I continue to follow the story), the American public is largely fed up with the topic of Casey Anthony.
If there are multiple run-on sentences in the above, please don't point that out to me.
Not interested in corrections!
