And that is where Shades' choices have led us.

MG's dream is to create an environment that is so naggingly annoying and frustrating for effective (reasonable, fact-based) critics of Mormonism that they just quit. And he is succeeding in doing that.

Yep, and he's got it down very well - persistent and on track. You got to hand it to the worm, his methods are effective. It's a score for the LDS team! Apologists will do whatever it takes to make them feel like they are winning.

I'm pretty sure those guys will be back. How can they let a worm run them off?

All these guys need to come back, most of us take them serious and almost no one takes MG serious. He is a board jester. Come back and post and stop worrying about the son of a b****.

God you are such a prick. I can't believe I'm defending you. Probably the only reason I do so is because I think you represent the LDS church so clearly and succinctly. We need people like you to remind us what the LDS church is really like

First, I'm not requiring and/or looking for your defense. Don't need it, don't want it. Second, those such as yourself represent what occurs when one chooses the direction that you have traveled after having left the church. It works both ways, cwald. And outsiders can observe it firsthand and up close. So I suppose I should thank you for participating on this board.

Thanks.

People like you are needed as reminders also.

Sanctorian wrote:This. I like having MG around for the fact he is representative of what a joke Mormonism is. This forum would be less fun without posters like MG embarrassing the church and reminding us all of the shear stupidity it takes to believe in the eternal garbage known as Mormonism.

I will miss our friends that have left, but we need the MGs of the world to participate in these forums helping us expose the fraud of Joseph Smith through their posting style trying to defend the indefensible.

This response says more about you and those like you than it does in regards to the truth claims of the CoJCofLDS and whether or not members of the church are, as you say, stupid.

Eternal garbage. Classic.

I resent that remark of being compared to a worm. But be that as it may, I agree, I think they will be back also.

It's only since being on this board that I've been compared with fecal matter, urine, body orifices, and now...a worm.

If my friends could see me now.

Yeah. Aren't you something.

No, not really. There are folks that are much more accomplished than I am...in many ways.

I think on that point you would agree?

Although at times...I'm pretty awesome! Some folks have even mentioned that to me from time to time.

But on that point I'm sure you would disagree.

He then pretends that I wrote this:

This person is not even worthy of contempt.
Zadok:
I did not have a faith crisis. I discovered that the Church was having a truth crisis.
Maksutov:
That's the problem with this supernatural stuff, it doesn't really solve anything. It's a placeholder for ignorance.

Thanks for the update and the link, Res Ipsa. Yep, it appears I did enter into that thread that the poster in question started. I plead guilty on that count. As I scrolled through the threads up to page seven I failed to link to and/or go over to the telestial forum. I plain forgot to. Truth be told, however, I've gone back to try and find where I made the commitment...as the poster in question did...to stay off of his threads. I'm assuming that I did. But I don't know whether I made that commitment in writing or if it was something I decided to do in my own head and follow his example.

If I put it in writing somewhere, then I did cross the line by posting in that thread you've referenced and I failed to remember. If I didn't put it in writing somewhere and it was a commitment that I personally made to myself...I failed to keep that personal commitment. Although I have to say, I probably just slipped up and forgot. I'm having a hard time imagining that I would have broken a commitment that I might have made publicly...and I find it easier to think that if it was something that I said to myself I was going to try and do...I might have slipped up.

Also, sometimes as I've participated on multiple threads at the same time and I'm also involved in real life activity, I tend to mix the threads a bit. I could have jumped in without giving it a second thought at that particular time.

Anyway, you're right. I did enter into a thread started by the poster in question. I hope that this was the only one. Otherwise I could find myself in really deep doo doo.

Even at that, I may have broken a promise that I may have made...but I'm not actually sure that I did, at least in a public fashion. If I did, and it can be shown that I did, then I will take full responsibility for slipping up. OTOH, if it's something that I did inadvertently having made a mental note to not interfere and/or enter his threads...and I slipped up...I'm going to be a bit more gentle on myself. Even though I'd guess others won't.

Either way, I'm sorry I missed the fact that I did enter in on a thread that the poster in question had started. That was quite a heated thread...now that I go back and read it.

I think it was this particular thread that brought me the point where I made the commitment that I did on Oct. 25th in the post that I have already referenced/posted.

To err is human, to forgive is divine. Even though you don't believe in a divinity, are you able to excuse/forgive my forgetfulness and absent mindedness?

Regards,
MG

Forgiveness? No. First, you’re asking the wrong person. Second, you’re asking forgiveness for the wrong thing. Third, I just see the same pattern of offering excuses instead of taking responsibility. Fourth, I see no sign of actual contrition or trying to do better. So, no, forgiveness is not mine to give and I don’t see that you earned it anyway.
