As a Nevermo, I am happy to be reminded of the positive role ascribed to Eve by the CoJCoLDS. That makes a refreshing change from the long history of blaming her for the fall of humankind, and setting against her the image of the perfectly virtuous and obedient Virgin mother that Mary was said to be.

Nevertheless, after uncounted centuries of oppression, exploitation and subjection to men, I do not think it is out of place for women to marvel at the flood of indignation that pours from some men at every instance, real or imagined, when in recent decades some men may have been unfairly treated to the advantage of a woman. There was very little of that indignation to be heard from men during the many, many years when pretty well all the injustice went the other way.

I may say that I speak as the father of daughters, who have shared with me their experiences of growing up as young women and working to establish themselves in previously male-dominated careers.

It's amazing how much fear the Church, as part of a larger Christian context, drummed up over the forces of evil when I was a kid, with most of that directed toward musicians who at worst, were self-destructive, but often toned it down as they got older. And then it turns out the evil I would fear as an adult would be a direct product of that very culture.

I only have two possible theories. One being moderately more benevolent than the other.

I think the Silent Generation might be particularly in tune to warning signs of fascism, and willing to fight it when it is undeniably gaining ground.

Or, Murdoch realizes that paying lower taxes and getting some scraps of conservative ideals within government doesn't much matter if there's only the ghost of the American economy from which to profit from. Before, supporting Trump basically meant supporting the adults in the room that could prevent his idiocy from becoming policy, and utilize his cult to implement classically conservative ideals. Now, there are no adults, only sycophants and fellow idiots.

One of the things many people have ignored is the huge financial incentive women like Virginia Giuffre had to embellish the truth for their own personal financial gain. Many of the victims were welcome to testify in a private hearing, free from cross examination or public scrutiny. Stretching the truth could mean the difference between a giant payday for the "victims" from the Epstein estate or walking away empty handed. And if it turns out in the end that you embellished the truth to secure your winning lottery ticket, there would be no legal consequences, lest by some chance this might discourage other real victims from testifying in the future. One could expect this commandment to unquestioningly believe all women who make sexual assault allegations against men and allow them to commit perjury with impunity from the leftists who brought us the Metoo movement. But it seems that a large number of conservatives brought into this logic as well. One might say that this was made even easier given that Epstein was dead when these claims were made against his estate, but Giuffre was able to nearly ruin Alan Dershowitz, who is still alive, with her accusations and ultimately walk away with a simple, "Oh, I guess I named the wrong guy." But hey, I'm a woman and just because you have to believe everything I say doesn't mean I can ever be held accountable bearing false witness as means of legal warfare.
