Praise lord Anubis!

Come forth. Go to Salt Lake City and visit the dreams of Thomas Monson and make him sweat!

Destroy their temple and raise up an obelisk to the glory of Re!!

Jesus Christ! What kind of mother lets her child bite wires? How shocking!

Greetings!

I have always been struck by the fact that Dr. Shades runs this board with no remuneration whatsoever. At the corporation, we are considering charging people money when they sin publicly, since by sinning before the prying eyes of the unbelievers they compromise our ability to recruit more tithe-paying customers. If I were this Dr. Shades, I would simply charge people for these silly peccadilloes and refuse them access to the board until they pay up!

Yours sincerely,

Good grief...Talk about making a mountain out of a molehill.

All I was trying to say was that although Mods know for a fact who sock puppets belong to, we feel an obligation to the board to keep this knowledge to ourselves.

Leave it to you to turn something that I think should be seen as a positive courtesy into some type of negative conspiracy.

(I would insert a roll eyes emoticon here if I wasn't posting from my phone).

The question Trevor asked was not about what mods can reveal about sockpuppets, we all know that mods don't reveal sock-puppets that's not news. I mentioned a specific type of circumstance i.e." If Trevor & maybe a buddy or 2 of his (as a for instance) decide to set up a sock-puppet in order to harass Scratch and Scratch finds out via pm what is going on, why on earth can't he blow the whistle on malicious game playing? Why would he be punished when he's simply protecting himself and letting the board know the sort of game playing going on if that is what was happening? "

That's sort of along the lines of what happened I believe but even if it isn't why is Shades and you concerned about protecting sock-puppets who may be set up to play on each other to harass others?

The overall significance of why behind the scenes information should be kept off the boards is because sometimes it can negatively affect a person in real life. Let's say 2 people carry on a flirtatious affair and it sours, that's no reason for a disgruntled party to expose it on the board where there is the potential of that person being known in real life and it carrying over into real life. That sort of thing could cause harm to relationships and it may not even be true or it may be blown way out of proportion. But revealing a sock-puppet in order to put an end to harassment seems justified and why should it matter whether one learns about it through p.m. or not.

Anyhow, this really doesn't matter to me personally, I've put it out there for consideration.

And I hereby repent of my obnoxious behavior towards the pseudo-TBM puppetrolls. But It was fun!! Beyond measure.

I don't really care about the sock-puppet thing, either, but I understand the philosophy behind it. If a poster discovers, via behind-the-scenes information, the identity of a sock-puppet, sharing that information would be included in the ban against sharing behind-the-scenes information in general. I'm fine with it, as long as we can continue to speculate.

I was hoping that I would be able to select a different punishment if a person I find to be attractive discloses unauthorized information about me.

But I suppose I will settle for what seems to have been decided.

I've finally gotten around to codifying the new rule proposed and discussed here. See the thread titled "THE RULES OF THE BOARD--Please read!" at the top of every forum. Specifically, a new rule was added, Universal Rule #7. (The previous Rule #7 has been bumped up and is now Universal Rule #8.)
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"
