I could probably overlook that if they would just decide that cannabis is an acceptable "wholesome herb".

What if god smoked cannabis?

The thing that got the ball rolling was reading the Book of Mormon one day and suddenly realizing that what I was reading was an obvious plagiarism from one of Paul's epistles. It was as clear as anything, and I found a lot more just looking in the Book of Mormon index. I knew I wasn't dealing with an ancient record. I managed to believe in it as "inspired fiction" for 7 more years, but that was the beginning of the end for me.

Jersey Girl

It would be difficult to narrow it to one issue.

Throat-slitting didn't help.
The road is beautiful, treacherous, and full of twists and turns.

The fact that scripture/religious teachings were not in harmony with the very essence of our universe. In other words, the universe (life) does not work in the way scripture/prophets/LDS doctrine suggest it does. Religious teachings are at odd with nature and the cosmos.

Yeah, the Mormon drug of choice xanax is so much more healthy.
WK: "Joseph Smith asserted that the Book of Mormon peoples were the original inhabitants of the americas"
Will Schryver: "No, he didn’t." 3/19/08
Still waiting for Will to back this up...

Mmmmm...the little peach-colored pill. Just don't mix with vodka.
The big issue for me that got the ball rolling was the DNA controversy.
