What I don't like about the whole interaction is that B&L came on as someone who was an investigator. Why not come on as who he was? But he accused the missionary of lying.

You are absolutely right. Integrity ought to matter. Of all the things I wish to reject about the church - it is the deceipt, duplicitous nature, lack of integrity, situational ethics etc.
Captain Moroni called it strategem, but I don't think this fictitional charactor had any idea how his words might be twisted to justify some of the things he fought against.
I have difficulty with the NOM culture as well. It's same, but different, but same. Like describing one MLM over another.
