I don't think it's offensive to believe God has a penis. I think its offensive to discuss God's penis. Discussing penises in medical situations is not offensive, but then I'm generally not talking about a particular person's penis. Similarly I do not find it offensive to discuss animals with penises, but I might find it offensive to talk about touching those penises.

Where in the world did I say anything about touching an animal's penis? I didn't! I said those blind men touched something that felt like a penis! Not that they were grabbing an elephant's penis! Eww. I don't even want to think about that!

Apply it to the analogy. The blind Mormon touched something on the elephant that felt like a penis and said, "My this elephant (God) is very like a man!"

If folks want to be offended by that, more power to them, but I don't know how they get along in their everyday lives.

Very well, the blind men believed they were touching a penis but weren't. It still raises interesting questions about whether the blind men thought they were doing something inappropriate even if they weren't. That may be why you were banned. I don't know. I'm just offering a possiblity, I don't intend to justify it so if it's still unreasonable it's unreasonable. It's just life at MADB.

Oh, and here's the post, in context, by DispensatorMysteriorum which mentioned "masturbating for me". It wasn't a direct proposition, I don't think, but still severely crossed the line, in my opinion. I was surprised he wasn't chastised at all by the mods, who had to have read his post. They closed the thread.

My original post on a thread about same-sex marriage (which actually spurred several PM's from Mormons telling me they enjoyed my sense of humor...), which was in response to a fellow who said to let gays marry so the end of the world would come sooner (I find that attitude really disturbing, by the way):

Are you saying we can usher in the Second Coming by sinning? Well, then, I'm happy to be of service!

I'm not a lesbian, so I can't help you there, but what else can I do to be of assistance? Have a beer? Masturbate? Drink coffee? Swear? Laugh loudly and behave light-mindedly? Are those things sinful enough to work?

I'm a helpful person, and I am committed to helping religious fundies speed up the Second Coming by committing sins--that way the fundies won't have to do it themselves by further exacerbating the Israeli/Palestinian conflict or by starting unnecessary wars.

Heck, I'm sinning as I type! I can feel the Second Coming getting closer...

I was suspended from MAD back in '06 for using the capital letter "M" (instead of writing the word masturbation). Instead of the big M, the capricious MAD moderator thought I should have used the phrase "breaking the law of chastity instead". The point I was trying to make was that the rules governing the big M had some bearing on the low retention rate of young men in the Church. Had I worded it as the capricious MAD moderator wanted, it could have been interpreted as fornication or the transformation of many ward wives into Mrs. Robinson, without benefit of sanctioned polyandry.

What I find especially funny about Scotty Dog Lloyd's nincompoop-ish post is that apparently needed to edit it! Good heavens, how much of a clumsy idiot is he? He needs to check himself in for reprogramming at the COB---STAT!
