Little tidbits keep coming along...

http://mormanity.blogspot.com/2008/05/b ... a-new.html

I read this article this last week and thought it was interesting. This is one of many "tidbits" that have come along line upon line and precept on precept over a period of time...not all at once as some would have it.

Could this be is the way God works?

by the way, take the time to read this particular article. And the blogger comments. The comments are somewhat parallel with the thoughts expressed on this thread.

Take care,

Hmmm, you wrote this in the form of a question, sort of like it was only hypothetical.

Thirty point lead by the Celtics. Trying to accomplish something useful here besides playing couch potato watching a mind numbingly boring second half...

Go Celtics!!!

Edit: make that thirty-four points!

Hey MG...

OK, maybe I'm missing something but I don't see how Liahona is any sort of support for anything.

Ummm didn't Joseph Smith, SR, and others have an interest in Hebrew?

If I wanted to make up something pretending it was of Hebrew origin or at least had a Hebrew influence, I would take out my Hebrew dictionary and find a word that worked, add a letter or two and there you go.

Again, maybe I'm missing something.

The truth is (smile), anyone who claims anything can come up with stuff to support their claim... I bet someone could more easily find evidence for the truth of Harry Potter (or the Wizard of Oz..smile), than they could the Book of Mormon, or Book of Abraham.

But... back to my original question. How would anyone know if they were mistaken?

Did you even read the article all the way through and analyze what's being said/demonstrated? A simple response of saying that, "tak[ing] out my Hebrew dictionary and find[ing] a word that work[s], [and] add[ing] a letter or two... and there you go", doesn't do justice to what's going on here. What a brush off!!

Hi MG,

Yes I did read the article and most of the comments, (typical Nibley.. sigh).

Please tell me what I am missing.

I see this same sort of thing over and over and over from apologists. They come up with all this "amazing" information when there is a very simple explanation that makes a hundred times more sense.

Worthy question mok. I've just started reading, Truth VS Falsehood, How to tell the Difference, by David R. Hawkins, MD, PhD. Most interesting on the subject of Consciousness evolution.

To your question: From what i understand Hawkins to suggest--very simplified--the more Conscioused we become, as individuals and as a society, the more we would accept reality in a higher form that manifests the "comfort and succor in delusion" as the pain and emptiness in life.

Sure explains a lot of "why"s in our past socially acceptables, that are no longer so, as we became, and are becoming--some faster than others--more conscious of humanity and the advantages of civility to all living creatures.

I think it bears heavily upon TD's OP question... I'll be back! ;-) Roger
